In a report filed by an Associated Press reporter who is acquainted with the tour stated that "the Kansas senator's tour features visits to city parks and town squares in a bus plastered with his name-an appeal to Iowans who expect a first hand look at candidates vying for the White House."
It is expected that Brownback's wife, Mary, and his two youngest children, Mark and Jenna, both 9 years old, will be on board of the tour.
The senator who has a strong conservative credential amongst his rivals in the campaign said, he hopes that the road trip throughout the state will attract attention of voters across all the precinct and caucuses to his message of uniting fiscal and social conservatives.
In a conference call he made to reporters before embarking on the tour, the senator remarks, "A lot of times, you go into towns that frequently don't get visited by candidates, and they're excited to see you, and I think it will be a great public opinion bath for me from Iowans."
Even with his strong conservative credential, the Kansas senator is still lagging behind in all national and state polls. Understanding this, the senator plan to make known to Iowans that he is the only Republican candidate who shares their values.
Senator Brownback had worked alongside with Senator Obama who is also running for the presidency on issue of poverty and Darfur. He is one Republican candidate who sees the protection of life as not just on abortion, but also helping the poor.
The senator grew up on a farm in Parker, Kansas. He hopes that his background would help him connecting local farmers in Iowa.
Amongst Republican voters across the country, he not well known as it is for the front tier candidates such as Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani and John McCain who already have the name recognition.
He seeks to use the tour to get himself known to Iowans-especially the evangelical Christians in the state.
