Elle
Bryon K. McRoberts, Male, 45, of Florissant, MO died in an unusual crash on March 10, 2010. Around 5:30 a.m., McRoberts was driving his 1999 Honda Shadow Northbound on Interstate 270 just south of McDonnell Boulevard. Bryon McRoberts failed to notice traffic stopping and he struck the rear of a second vehicle driven by Kenneth E. Cave, 49 also of Florissant, MO.

Cave was driving a 2005 Chevy Silverado that sustained only minor damage. The Shadow driven by McRoberts was totaled and had to be towed from the scene. McRoberts was transported to DePaul Hospital by ambulance. Despite emergency efforts to save McRoberts, he was pronounced dead at 6:17 p.m. by Dr. Moore at the DePaul Hospital. It has not been released why McRoberts was distracted and did not notice the traffic had stopped in front of him.

A third vehicle also received very minor damage after the impact of the two main vehicles in the accident collided. The 2005 Chevy Cobalt driven by Scott P Engelmeyer, 35, of Florissant, MO was driven from the scene. Engelmeyer was wearing his seat belt and sustained only minor injuries.

It is important to note that drivers are commonly distracted by other activities while driving including using cell phones or texting, eating, or even adjusting a radio station. It is important, especially when at high speeds on the highway to avoid distracted driving. And always wear your seat belt to limit your chances of major injuries.

Bryon McRoberts was one of my regular customers. He would come into the store weekly. He was a very nice man. He once brought me a protein shake cause I complained about being hungry. Good man I am so sorry he passed.

I think what also contributed to McRoberts' death was the fact that he was riding only a motorcycle and ended up crashing into an SUV. I...think that may've contributed at least somewhat to his death.
