Bubble Bath

April Higney
A soft bubble bath soothing the senses.
Fragrant flowers, the petals, for the skin to caress.
A softly glowing candle, and gentle music,
she removes her silky dress.

Her flowing hair tossed up in a ribbon,
she lays back to ease her troubled mind.
A passionate kiss falls upon her lips,
massaging her shoulders to help her unwind

She closes her eyes, feeling his touch.
His kiss then again felt, so warm and so sweet.
She smiles inside as he hands her a towel,
and helps her to her feet.

Two wine glasses, and roses, a romantic table set,
he held one of her hands in both of his own,
he whispered softly to her by the flickering fireplace,
"you are more precious to me, than anything I've ever known."

She caresses his cheek, looking into his eyes,
and could see the words he said were true,
and the words flowed from his lips,
"I'm in love with you."

The clock chimed at the midnight hour,
when of time she was so unaware.
She reached for her robe, and blew out the candles,
and went to bed with a subtle smile, for in her mind he was truly there.
