Buccaneers Season Looking Bleak After More Season Ending Injuries

The pewter isn't shining much in Tampa after yet another Buccaneer sustains a season ending injury today in Indianapolis. The Tampa Tribune reports that Michael Pittman has sustained a cracked Fibula and will be out for the season. This injury couldn't have come at a worse time as Tampa has lost Carnell "Cadillac" Williams last week to a possible career ending knee injury. Amongst other Buccaneers that are on the injured reserve list are Mike Alstott who has been a wrecking ball for the Buccaneers for over a decade who reaggravated a neck injury from the 2004 season. Veteran left tackle, Luke Petitgout injured his ACL a week ago against Carolina. Petitgout, has been an anchor to a rookie offensive line that was gelling together rather quickly in the weeks before his injury.

Amongst Tampa's "Healthy" players are athletes playing with typical run of the mill football associated injuries. Among the injured but active players are, corner back Phillip Buchanon (foot), defensive end Greg Spires (ankle), wide receiver Ike Hilliard (ankle) and corner back Brian Kelley (groin). With so many first string players out of contention it is up to the new, younger Buccaneers to bring their game to the field. Tampa's fate is in the hands of young rookies drafted for the future, it is up to them to evolve into Tampa's present and carry this injured team to the playoffs.
