Brian at "The Krone Team" with Keller Williams in Buckeye and Goodyear Arizona was concerned with maintaining their existing web-presence while migrating to a more robust website: he had been put in charge of researching this by the real estate agent-team leader when he called me. For those of you who do not know, anyone trying to rank on Google organic search for a City, State, Real Estate search like the ones this agent team ranks on the first page organic results for, like: "Buckeye Arizona real estate", for instance, is competing with over 202,000 other documents that contain the words, and several behemoth lead generators: public companies that include, in this case, in order of rankings:

1. .homes.com
2. yahoo.com
3. .trulia.com
4. realtor.com
5. aol.com

Rankings for such searches are worth real money to Realtors, because this shows potential clients that they have the power to get the job done online, and because 85% of all real estate transactions begin with a key word search like this one.
Knowing that the old, static website would not maintain these rankings forever, and indeed had dropped-down from line one number one to the middle of the first page already, Brian researched SEO blogs and consulted experts all over the web and came to the conclusion that the team would need to become blog writers on their own platform, and video producers to maintain their web presence. The team had invested many thousands of dollars over a period of years on SEO and link building, and suddenly that all would be lost if they could not migrate to a content management system.

At the same time, they would need to maintain their presence through the transition, which is a tricky thing to do at best.

I was called because we built RISMedia.com to their spec: it is Real Estate Magazine's site and it is a 30,000 page WordPress blog, which gets, not surprisingly, over 30,000 unique visitors per day.
Content trumps distribution in the new media, so anybody wishing to maintain a presence must be a content producer.

By typing into Google: "site:thekroneteam.com", I was able to determine the three pages of cached page links that already existed in Google's primary cache, allowing me to use a WordPress plug-in app to easily redirect the pages to a page we manufactured specifically to maintain the rankings.

The new site is seamlessly integrated into Ihomefinder.com IDX with it's robust back-end tracking and CRM, at my suggestion, providing advanced Google Earth style mapping technology for MLS searches.

Since SEO is dying a slow death with widespread adoption of modern content management systems by main-stream media and public companies, such a transition is the only way to perpetuate 'grandfathered-in' organic search engine rankings like these.

While this information should be music to your ears if you are an AC content producer like me, many less informed Realtors and other business people are about to have a rude awakening, if they have not done so already; the technology gap is closing as encoding standards become more and more standardized, and the search engine technology improves .
