Bucky Covington in Concert

Festival of the Bells: July 5th 2008

July 5th my family and I set out for some fun at the Hillsboro Festival of the Bells. The streets of Hillsboro are transformed to what look looks like a small fair for the festival. The main attraction for us traveling to Hillsboro was for the night's entertainment. Bucky Covington was going to be in concert at 8 pm. My daughter and I had a meet and greet with Bucky before the show.

We arrived at the festival and we enjoyed some traditional festival/fair food. When it was time for the meet and greet my daughter and I got in line. Bucky Covington is a really sweet guy who does his best to make each fan feel special. My daughter was so thrilled to meet Bucky and get her picture with him. You might be nervous waiting to meet Bucky Covington but Bucky is so friendly that he calms your nerves almost as soon as he greets you. I am glad my daughter's first celebrity to have met was Bucky Covington. She will never forget her experience and she will treasure it forever.

So after the meet and greet we went and found our seats and a few minutes later the concert started. Bucky always put on a great show. This was our third Bucky Covington show. Bucky sings songs off his CD. They are upbeat songs that keep you moving. Bucky's twin Rocky plays drums in the band and he and Bucky sang together for the song Seven Spanish Angels by Willie Nelson. I am not a Willie Nelson fan but after hearing Bucky and Rocky cover this song I am now a fan of the song and would love to hear them record this song.

Bucky also does a cover of Pink Floyds "The Wall". During this song Bucky had the crowd stand and sing along. Everyone was having a great, rocking time. Bucky talks to the crowd between songs and tells little stories. For instance he told a story about losing the keys to his in the lake while he was getting off the boat onto the dock. Traditional country man style Bucky decides paying a fortune for new keys is not a good idea so he gets some underwater equipment and searches for his keys, luckily finding them. As Bucky tells the crowd "I'm still a tight ass"

A Bucky Covington concert is a way to spend a evening. I already want him to start coming back through Ohio again. I know it will probably not be until next spring and you can bet once winter is starting to end I will be watching Bucky's tour schedule again to make sure to attend any shows close enough. With a Bucky Covington concert you not only get some great rocking, country music you also get some great rock covers and with Rocky being in the band you get two gorgeous blonds. Get prepared for a night filled with great music by a great guy who loves his fans and loves to entertain them.
