"How Well Do You Know the Groom?" Bridal Shower Quiz Game
A favorite at bridal showers, this quiz game will give all the bride's friends a chance to prove that they know the most about the groom. To plan this game, you will either need to have the bride make up a set of questions and answers about the groom, or the planners will need to meet with the groom to interview him on a variety of areas. Questions can range from the groom's home town to his personal dreams and aspirations, and they can be multiple choice or, for a more difficult game, fill in the blank. Type out the quiz, and print one for each attendee. Sometime during the bridal shower, give everybody a few minutes to take their quiz (no working together - that's cheating!) and after taking it, have the bride help go over the answers.
Tricky Bridal Shower Memory Game
This is a great first game to play, and it will be sure to get some laughs. Before the bridal shower, prepare a small tray of random items, such as kitchen utensils, sewing tools, and household items. When you tell the guests there will be a memory game, have the mother of the bride (or another distinguished guest) walk around the room slowly with the tray of items before leaving the room. After she leaves, hand out pens and paper, and have all the guests write down... not all the items on the tray, but what the person carrying the tray was wearing (clothing, colors, style, jewelry, shoes, etc.)! Whoever has the most accurate and specific description wins, and you can have the group as a whole help be the judges.
Pictionary: Bridal Shower Edition
Divide the guests into two teams, and bring out either large sheets of paper and pens, or even better, a dry erase board and markers. Then have a small bucket full of slips of paper with wedding-related items or activities written on them. On each team's turn, the artist for that round takes a slip of paper and has a minute to get her team to guess what is written on it from her drawing. Another way to do this would be to have the same setup, but play charades.
The Clothespin Bridal Shower Game
When each guest arrives at the bridal shower, give her a clothespin, or something else that can be easily attached to a person and transferred between people. Tell her that it's for a game, and each time they say _______ (a wedding-related word of your choice, or the name of the bride), whoever hears it first is allowed to take their clothespin. At the end of the shower, whoever has collected the most clothespins wins. For an added twist, consider not telling people what the secret word is, but just having the hosts know at first. Once they start stealing pins, people can start trying to figure out what the word is. After somebody has figured it out (and confirmed with the host), they can start stealing pins as well.
