Budget Friendly Decorating Ideas

Most of us are on a budget. We have little money to spend on such things as decorating. This means we have to make the most of our money and our budget. This also means we have to make what we do spend, count. This may mean that you are looking for a few smart budget friendly decorating ideas. Here are a few to consider.

Poufs

Do you ever need an extra seat in your home? Would you like a place to stretch your legs while you watch your favorite show? Would you like a place to set a tray of food while entertaining? A pouf is the perfect solution for all these needs. It can also be add color and style to a room.

If you haven't figured it out, yet, a pouf is like stool. It is made of fabric and it is soft enough to sit on, too. Yes, if you are a great DIY type person, you could even make one yourself. Have no fear, though, they can purchase in many stores, too.

Pillows

Pillows can add color to a room. Pillows can add your style to a room. Pillows can be inexpensive. Plus, you can even make your own pillows.

Where should you place these for maximum benefit? Why not group a few on your sofa, on your bed or one on your favorite chair?

Mirrors

Mirrors can open up a room. Mirrors can fill empty spaces. Mirrors can make most rooms look larger. Plus, mirrors can give you a quick chance to make sure you look put-together before company arrives. For these reasons, add one above your mantel, by your front door and definitely in your bedroom.

Oversized Urns

Oversized urns are a great way to add color to a room. Purchase them in your favorite color and place them where everyone can see, such as on top of your mantel. Be sure to place a matching pair and not clutter the area around them.

Consider skipping the traditional coffee table

Yes, one traditional coffee table is the norm. Why not try something different? Why not place two side to side tables in front of your sofa instead of that normal coffee table. Think about it. Two tables will give you more space when entertaining. The space between the tables will make the room appear bigger. Plus, two tables can make cleaning easier.

Yes, these are simple steps. But they are simple and budget friendly decorating steps. In these hard times, they are the ones that most people may need.

I admit - not the best decorator! In fact, we joke that the decor is actually, "Early Modern Poverty!!!" All hand-me-downs :) I love it, cheers :)
