Now that we have tickets, let us look at getting there. For me, I would have to fly to Pasadena, California. In my course of traveling, I have found Expedia to be great (www.expedia.com). The nice thing is that you can bundle your airfare, hotel, and rental car (if needed) all in one and get great prices. Another place many people do not know about is Kayak. I have used Kayak when I was traveling to Florida and it was a great experience. It works very similar to the other online travel arrangement firms, please visit www.kayak.com. You can always fly standby with your airline of choice but I have found that to be stressful as there is no guarantee that you will get to Pasadena when you want as you are at the mercy of how full the flight is. With the Rose Bowl, my guess is that every flight to California is going to be pretty packed, so I would not recommend this as a means to save some money. Instead you can bring your own snack rather then eating airport food. This is a healthier option and it will definitely save you some money. Just be mindful of the new rules with traveling and carrying liquids, gels, creams ect.
Now that we have a flight to get to California, we need a place to stay. There are so many hotels in the Pasadena, California area to choose from. Here are my picks for your stay:
Courtyard by Marriot, Hilton, The Westin, The Langham Huntington Hotel Sheraton, or Pasadena Inn. These hotels have a lot of amenities and are not to far from the Rose Bowl venue. I highly recommend booking your hotel online.
If you book your hotel using www.hotels.com and enter the code DEC8GFT you can safe $40 off of your next stay.
Happy Travels To The Rose Bowl!
