Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is known and "the world's busiest passenger airport". With literally millions of travelers passing through the Atlanta area annually many notable hotel chains have locations conveniently near the airport. Travelers that pass through, or decide to visit, the Atlanta area sometimes have a hard time choosing the right hotel. The following are six, budget friendly, Atlanta hotels that provide travelers with quick access to the Airport.

6. Microtel Atlanta Airport

The Microtel's Atlanta Airport is a reasonably priced hotel located near the Atlanta Convention Center and the Airport. The hotel is small, with only 80 guest rooms and a very small lobby. This cozy setting is popular with business travelers who frequent the area. The small meeting area can accommodate 35 people and the hotel staff is always willing to help arrange catering or provide food and beverages for a small group.

The hotel is only 2 miles away from the Georgia International Convention Center which hosts many events annually. This close proximity makes Microtel favorite conventioneers. Even when there is no main event scheduled the Convent Center displaced art work from local artists.

Microtel offers a free Continental breakfast each morning. There are laundry services available for guests and the staff is willing to help with any faxing or postal needs. The entire hotel has Wireless Internet Access at no charge and a free airport shuttle provides transportation to and from the airport every half hour.

5. Comfort Inn & Suites Airport South

For rates starting at $89.00 the Comfort Inn & Suites is located in a fantastic Atlanta location. The hotel is minutes away from the airport a free shuttle service to bring you from the airport to the hotel. The Comfort Inn & Suites Airport South prides itself on providing guests with various packages that include free parking and tickets to local theme parks and exhibits. Some of the nearby theme parks are Six Flags over Georgia and Stone Mountain Park.

The hotels services include a free deluxe breakfast, newspaper, and coffee throughout the day in the lobby. The Comfort Inn & Suite also boasts a well equipped exercise room and an indoor heated pool with hot tub. Now travelers can take a relaxing swim all year long.

Each room features a microwave and refrigerator which can be lifesavers for travelers on a tight budget that doesn't allow for eating out every day. There are onsite laundry facilities available for the convenience of guests and a business center for professional travelers. 4. Days Inn Airport South

For $84.00 a night the Days Inn Airport is great for travelers flying in late at night, or very early in the morning. The free shuttle services from, and to, the airport run 24 hours a day which means no matter what time your flight is, Days Inn will make sure you get to the airport on time. In keeping with 24 hour service there are always front desk attendants on duty ready to check you in, or out, of the hotel.

The hotel itself is small with only 50 guestrooms but it is a favorite among business travelers and airport staff. Each room has a microwave, refrigerator, and coffeemaker. All local calls are free and the Days Inn Airport South has a fitness center open to all guest and an outdoor pool open seasonally.

3. Wellesley Inn Atlanta Airport

This recently renovated hotel offers one of the highest qualities of service found in budget friendly hotels. With rates starting at $79.00 the Wellesley Inn is one of the most popular hotels in the Atlanta Airport. Each guest receives courteous service that is not often found in affordable hotels.

Each, newly renovated, room boasts modern furniture, microwaves, refrigerators, and coffee/tea makers with complimentary tea and coffee. All guests receive high speed internet access at no additional charge and the hotel has three meeting areas that can be reserved for any occasions. Guests have used the meeting rooms for wedding receptions, reunions, and other occasions. These meeting rooms are between 750 and 1066 square feet and can accommodate between 12 and 90 people.

In addition to helping guests from out of town get to the Wellesley Inn from the airport using the hotels free shuttle, the hotel also helps local residents get to the airport. The hotel offers a Park'N Fly rate that lets guests who stay at the hotel for one night leave their car in the hotel parking lot for up to 14 days. The hotel will provide you with shuttle transportation to the airport for your flight and will return you to the hotel after your trip to retrieve your car.

2. Country Inn & Suites by Carlson Atlanta Airport South

With rates starting at $75.00 per night the Country Inn and Suites hotel is one of my personal favorites. This four story hotel is located in the Phoenix Business Park and is accessible from the airport using MARTA. The hotel provides complimentary 24 hours airport transportation for all guests.

In addition to a well equipped business center the hotel has four meeting rooms and the hotel staff will arrange catering for events if requested. For those that prefer to conduct their business privately each room has a work desk and free high speed internet access. All rooms also offer premium channels, pay per view movies, and video game consoles.

A fitness room is available on site along with a seasonal pool with a patio area. Piedmont Park is 15 miles from the hotel and it offers two public golf courses, tennis courts, and other recreation. The hotel does not have a restaurant on site but they do provide a free Continental breakfast with a wide variety of selections. Several restaurants are located nearby including the Phoenix Bar & Grill.

1. Best Western Hotel & Suites Airport South

Starting at only $69.00 a night Best Western gives travelers the most bang for their buck. The service and amentias of this hotel rival larger changes though Best Western charges only a fraction of their prices. The Best Western is only two miles from the airport and has free 24-hour shuttle service. The hotel is within 3 miles of the Georgia Convention center and within 14 miles of the Georgia Aquarium.

All guestrooms contain a compact, space saving, refrigerator and all guests are able to make free local costs. High speed internet access to available for all guests and a free breakfast is provided daily. The 24-hour fitness center is well equipped and the outdoor pool has a spa tub that is available seasonally.

Pets are allowed at this location with a deposit and several recreational activities, including Stone Mountain Park, are available nearby.
