On the higher end of "budget" but still cheaper than many of its neighbors (like the Marriott, Marriott Courtyard, and Hampton), the Sleep Inn is located just one mile away from the airport. They offer a free shuttle to Midway, an exercise room, free breakfast, free newspapers, and other nice but non-extravagant amentities for a comfortable but cost-conscious stay.

You may be surprised to learn that extended stay hotels often have some of the best rates, especially on the weekends, when fewer business travelers are in town. And no, you don't necessarily have to stay in Chicago for weeks at a time to get a deal. In testing out prices, for example, I selected a random four-day weekend in July and found that this hotel unexpectedly came up with the cheapest rates of anything in the Midway area. You'll probably get more in-room stuff than you need, and you won't get daily housekeeping - but the deals can be surprising!

Always known for being cheaper than the average hotel (though occasionally a little grubbier, too), the BW chain's Midway location is a little farther south than some of the other area hotels. That said, it's got the standard amenities at a low cost.

Just a hop and a skip from Midway on 55th, this low-frill hotel is a solid budget choice because of its proximity to the aiport and its free shuttle service.

Post a CommentYou overlooked the Carlton Inn Midway. It is the ONLY Midway hotel just a few minutes from the CTA elevated (el) train- the orange line. Although it is just one stop from the airport, it is easier to ring for a free shuttle, and then use the el for exploring Chicago or getting to McCormick place for conventions.
Friendly as heck, and great prices too!
