This list of best budget spring break destinations in Tennessee for families may provide just the getaway that you are looking for. If the thought of going to the beach one more time makes you want to stay home, relax.

There are lots of good spring break destinations right here in Tennessee. Here are just a few of them. Click on the links to find out more about each city on the list.

Pigeon Forge
This small town, along with Gatlinburg, is one of the top destinations in the Southeast. There are lots of budget friendly activities for the family to enjoy. One of the popular attractions here is Dollywood. If you arrive after 3:00 p.m. your admission to the park for the next day is free. A trolly makes it easy to get around to shops and restaurants.

Gatlinburg
This budget spring break destination in Tennessee for families is just down the road from Pigeon Forge. Ripley's Attractions has several attractions that families love to visit. Shops, whitewater rafting and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park help make Gatlinburg budget friendly. The trolley services make getting around a snap.

Chattanooga
This may be the best budget spring break destination in Tennessee. Families can enjoy lots to see and do without dropping a lot of cash. There are several national parks in the greater Chattanooga area, two shopping malls and lots of restaurants.

Downtown attractions include the Tennessee Aquarium, arts district, Rembrandt's and more. A free shuttle takes you to all the downtown locations. My family visits often. We park our car at the Chattanooga Choo-Choo and go there it for shopping when we're finished sight-seeing.

Nashville
There are all sorts of historic locations in Nashville that put it on the list of best budget spring break destinations in Tennessee for families. Don't forget to visit the State Capitol building or Parthenon while you are visiting the antebellum homes and historic museums. Tour the attractions or just take your picture in front of them. There are lots of budget friendly activities in this city.

Knoxville
Families visiting this city should automatically plan a stop to the Knoxville Zoo. Ticket prices may cause sticker shock but this is offset by being able to bring in some of your own snacks. The zoo is large enough that walking through it can take all day.

When you're finished touring the zoo head on over to Market Square Mall or the Old City for dinner. Knoxville has museums, malls, parks and other attractions that help make it one of the best budget spring break destinations in Tennessee.

Great ideas. Keep the kids safe and remain in the US instead of going abroad
