Miniature Christmas Tree
To decorate your classroom in a budget-friendly way, you can purchase a mini Christmas tree. To trim your Christmas tree, you can purchase non-breakable Christmas decorations. Two of the stores where you might find either or both of these budget-friendly Christmas decorations are a craft store or a discount department store. My classroom always had a miniature Christmas tree and it looked very pretty.
Paper Chains
My students helped make colorful paper chains, which were used as the border for the bulletin boards in my classroom. The students created the paper chains using construction paper in various Christmas colors. After cutting the construction paper into strips, the students then glued them together to form paper chains. If your students are too young to complete this activity, you can easily create the paper chains yourself. Paper chains make a nice budget-friendly Christmas decoration for a classroom.
If you are planning to give your students a Christmas gift, you can place the gifts under the classroom Christmas tree after you have wrapped them. If you would like to read my article about holiday gifts teachers can give to students, click here. As you, your students, and visitors walk into your classroom, the wrapped gifts under the Christmas tree will add to the festive feeling of your classroom.
Student Artwork
Another budget-friendly Christmas decoration that you can use in your classroom is various Christmas drawings that your students create. Placing these drawings around your classroom enables you to have many beautiful and creative Christmas decorations. My students enjoyed creating these drawings to help decorate our classroom for Christmas.
Christmas Figurines
You can purchase a variety of unbreakable Christmas figurines for your classroom. You can place these budget-friendly Christmas decorations on your desk, table, etc. Some ideas for figurines include Santa Claus, a reindeer, etc. These figurines are an additional budget-friendly Christmas decoration for your classroom.
"Merry Christmas" Banner
You can purchase an inexpensive banner that wishes all who enter your classroom a Merry Christmas. You can place this banner on the front of your desk or on the front of a table in your classroom.
Hope that you were able to get some ideas on how to decorate your classroom for Christmas without spending lots of money.
