BugBits: Control Your Own Insect Society in a Game of Strategy

If you have ever wondered what it would be like to control your own society of insects in a quest for survival, peace and prosperity; your opportunity has arrived. In BugBits, players take control of a variety of insects in order to gather resources and defend their colony against an assortment of enemy invaders.

BugBits is a casual strategy game that places the player in control of a variety of insects in a variety of landscapes. The game's beginning gives the player an easy start at collecting resources (nectar) in the form of droplets with a handful of the available playable insects to do the harvesting. Initial insects at the players disposal are ants, bees, and beetles, and each one has its strengths and weaknesses for use in resource collecting, and in battling enemy insects that ultimately will try to invade your home territory. In traditional simulation and civilization building style, insects are only available for deployment into the field at any given time, only after a timer between deployments of each insect has counted down and been reset. The amount of time required to wait between the different insects varies, with more powerful insects taking more time. Strategy is required when selecting which insects will enter the field for play, and leveling up results in the unlocking of additional insect types. By placing the appropriate insect types into action, a balance of resource collection, defense from invaders, and infiltration of the enemy's base can be achieved. Mini-missions allows for assigned tasks to be accomplished during a typical game, and fun awards can also be earned by meeting criteria during play, such as having a certain number of harvesting insects in play at one time.

Gameplay is simple yet engaging, and even non-casual gamers may become hooked on the challenge of maintaining a prospering civilization. The game is suitable for players of all ages, and game control and playability will satisfy both children and adult players. The game itself offers an incredible amount of gameplay elements for the price. Story mode allows for play by missions, and extending the life of the game is the ability to play in multiplayer mode where players can battle for control by eliminating each other's insects one by one, and by collecting resources quicker than the other.

Quality in the game is above top notch. Visuals are welcoming as scenery is stimulating and rich in color. Audio levels are controllable, and the chosen music and effects add compliment to the game. BugBits is developed by Alder Games, Ltd. and is available for purchase through online casual game stores.
