Whether it was learning how to bike in early years, or beginning writing as a career in the later, I was always nervous.
When I first started freelancing, I hid my writing under covers. Except for my family and few close friends, no one knew. Yes, there were apprehensions of rejection, nightmares of people jeering and websites rejecting my work.
Talking to myself in the wee hours of morning, I asked, "Why I am writing?" Yes, for myself and for my immense passion for the craft. However, was writing fun without any readers?
"What if they don't like my writing?" I asked my husband.
"You do your best. Leave it on your readers to decide. If they like you, they'll come back to you."
That statement hit home!
I sat and analyzed.
An avid reader, not necessarily, I liked the bestseller on the list. After all, we all are different individuals with different tastes and different perceptions. If one seeks simplicity in writing, other doesn't. If one is enamored by science fiction, romance beckons the other.
Did I like what I write? I questioned. Yes.
Do I put in my best? Yes.
Am I ready to work hard? Yes.
Am I sincere to my skills? Yes.
"Go for it girl...!" I cheered and gave myself a pat in the back.
