By Developing New Power Words

TheEntrepreneurDiva
In case you haven't realize it, power words play a key role in driving traffic and increasing conversions. Although they sound like "keywords" they are actually a little different. Keywords come from the statistics of searches that people do in the search engines. These popular keywords are then used in online written content to drive traffic.

Now power words, may not be derived from search engine searches. Instead, these are words that are know to grab the attention of readers, invoke emotion, and persuade them to read or purchase your content. So as you can there is a small difference.

With that being said it is a good idea to use them both when writing headlines, articles, reports, blog posts, and web content. Doing so will make your writing more powerful and it will get better results.

How to Build New Power Words

Now there are tons of power words that people love to use, but the problem is sometimes they over use those power words. So to get some variety here is what you can do:

  1. Take some of those old power words that you have already been using and plug them into www.thesaurus.com This is a free online thesaurus and it is very simple to use.
  2. When you do this you will get synonyms and antonyms for each word. When you do this make sure you are choosing the most powerful words out of your synonym and antonym list.

Building Headlines Using This Method

In building headlines with this method you are going to use one power word at a time. So you have to first define if your headline is going to speak on a problem or a solution. Synonyms are words that mean the same as your power words and are usually words that are positive and address a solution. Antonyms are words that mean the opposite of your power word and are usually negative and address a problem.

Building Power Sentences for Your Sales Copy

For a lot of people writing a sales copy can be an intimidating task, at least it was for me at first. But using the little trick above can definitely help you to build sentences that demand attention and provides results.

When you do this to create power sentences for your sales copy then you will want to use both the synonym and the antonym to create a sentence(s) that addresses a problem and provides a solution. Here is an example:

Power Word = Dominate

Synonym = Call the shots

Antonym = Surrender

Are you tired of surrendering to a 9-5 job that is barely paying the bills. Then it is time that you call the shots and make money while doing it.

This is just a simple technique that takes no more than about 10 minutes at the most and you can come up with tons of ideas just using one word.
