When designer Jennie Lynn Johanson, got started in 2002, her goal with launching Bumble Bags was "to design a diaper bag that really will make a difference in a mom's life". Of course there's a lot of competition in the diaper bag community, in order to stand out Bumble Bags focuses on fabrications.
The trendy prints are the best reason to select a Bumble Bag. From paisley to floral prints to modern stripes, there's something for every taste in the collection. I'd choose the new Cappucino Dot pattern-I love the hip colors and modern aesthetic. Touch the fabric and you'll be hooked. Instead of stiff vinyl, these bags are plush, soft and incredibly light (a good thing because all the baby gear you stash inside can weigh a ton!).
Currently Bumble bags offer four designs. My clear favorite is the Jessica convertible messenger/backpack. The nifty design can be carried in four different ways:
•shoulder bag
•backpack
•messenger style (across the chest)
•hung from the stroller handle bars
Don't worry there's plenty of substance built in to these fabulous looking bags. As any new mom knows, a well-packed diaper bag can make the difference on any outing. A spilled bottle or toy left behind because it won't fit in the diaper bag, and your outing is doomed. But if you've got everything packed and properly organized you've got a great shot at having a blast while out with your baby.
It's clear this back has lots of utility, but what about durability? Bumble Bags makes a big effort to promote the special technology needed to weave water resistant & stain resistant protection into their fabrics. In fact, the interior claims to have a soil-proof lining.
There's more. Additional features include:
•fold out change pad making (again with a stain resistant fabric)
•side cell phone pocket
•side bottle pocket
•two elastic bottle straps
•Magnetic snap closure and added security
The Jessica bag retails between $125-$150 and can be found at variety of shops and Web sites. Bumble Bags also offers coordinated car seat covers and new this spring is a Changing Kit, a pared-down version of a diaper bag -the perfect item to leave at grandma's house for quick changes.
