Bummis Super Whisper Wraps are awesome for almost any type of diaper under them! With some other brand diaper covers we had a hard time finding a good fit with some of our fitteds or thick prefolds. Not with Bummis Super Whisper Wraps. The generous cut of this cover makes it suitable for any type of flat, prefold, contour, or any type of fitted, VELCRO OR SNAP-CLOSING diaper.
When testing out diaper covers we had a lot of issues with leaks and major breast milk poop blow outs. A lot of diaper covers just did not hold in the poops well enough or would leak around the legs because the leg holes were too big. We never had a problem with Bummis Super Whisper Wraps. Bummis unlike other diaper covers have amazing built in gussets around the legs to prevent leakage. These amazing covers hold everything, and I mean everything inside. Even at night we rarely have a leak with Bummis covers.
Another huge plus about Bummis Super Whisper Wraps is the built in pocket. In the front of the diaper is a little pocket. This pocket is great when you are using prefolds! No more having to worry about using pins or Snappis to hold your child's diaper shut. You can simply trifold the prefold and tuck it into the diaper wrap pocket to hold it in place. The prefold will not slide about and will stay in one place without using pins or a Snappi! How great is that! You can also fold the prefold in different was as well to get the best protection for your child. Some parents prefer the old newspaper fold. These too can be done using this amazing diaper cover and just stuffing the front of the prefold into the pocket to hold it in place without the use of pins!
Bummis diaper wraps are easy to clean also. Unlike some other brands of covers, these covers can be thrown right in along with your normal diaper load. Bummis wrap covers have laundry tabs for their velcro so that the velcro does not snag other clothing or diapers in the wash! The laundry tabs are very strong and I haven't had any issues with them coming undone in the laundry, unlike some other diaper covers I own.
The Bummis website recommends that their covers be washed in Charlie's soap, yet I have used my normal Tide Free and had no problems. The brightening agent in some laundry soaps can cause the cover material to break down and cause wicking or leaking of the diaper cover.
Bummis diaper covers dry quite quickly and may be dried in the dryer or line dried. Even when washed 100 times these diaper covers still look brand new. They hold up very well on use on multiple children. I have some diaper wraps in my stash that have made it through two children already and still look brand new!
The only knock I have on these covers is that the material is quite thick. When worn with a thick prefold under, it makes my child look like a bubble butt. These covers have a lot thicker material then some other brand diaper covers I own.
Bummis wraps come in the standard white or also some cute prints. The cost of these amazing covers is cheaper then some other brands and normally ranges anywhere from $8.29 to $12.95 new. Of course like most other cloth diapering products these diaper covers can be found on many cloth diapering forums or eBay and may be purchased for a cheaper price used.
I was a little disappointed to find that there are not that many prints available in Bummis wraps and most of the prints were pretty boyish. I would love to see more pink prints added to their collection and also a few more prints to choose from.
Overall, I really love Bummis Super Whisper Wraps. They are the best diaper cover I have found on the market so far. They are great diaper covers and are very durable and made to last. We haven't had any leaking issues or blow out issues with these amazing covers and I recommend them to all those parents entering the cloth diapering world. I give them 4.5 stars!
