To water my plants
Along the way
I stepped on some ants.
The first pot of blue
Was plenty dry
So I gave it a drink
As I walked by.
The next pot of reds
Was dry by the feel
As the water came out
I heard some high squeals.
I hollered too
But soon was OK
Looked under those plants
Where three bunnies lay.
Cuddled together
A brown fuzzy nest
Eyes just opening
I cried out in jest.
Three Easter bunnies
In that little bed
I thought again
Troubles ahead!
It took several days
And I missed their leave
My plant was glad
It had it's reprieve.
A few weeks later
I bought special flowers
Only had them planted
A couple of hours.
When out to check them
Later that day
Guess who I spied
And they didn't run away.
Three brown little bunnies
And a proud mom, too
Were cutting down those flowers
Fast as they could chew.
Down to the ground
Just a couple sprigs now
Oh my expensive plants
Gone! Like pow!
I stood and watched
My face had a smile
Three bunnies and mom
Hopped away - after awhile.
Never saw that family
Together again
That's my bunny story
This is the Easter Amen.
