Burger King's New Double Cheeseburger: How Does it Really Compare to McDonald's?
Comparing 2 Top Fast Food Double Cheese Burgers
The double cheeseburger from McDonald's is cheap, it tastes good, and it fits in fine with my Weight Watchers program whenever I have a fast food burger craving so I can still indulge in one. So when I saw the commercial for Burger King's double cheeseburger that claimed its burger had 30% more meat than McDonald's I just had to try it. Luckily for me, a new Burger King restaurant has recently opened up only a couple of miles from my house, so instead of using up 10-15 minutes going to my usual locations, I can hop in my car and get a flame-broiled double cheeseburger in less than 5 minutes now.
Burger King's flame-broiled burgers have always provided more meat than McDonald's and their new double cheeseburger is no exception. After eating this burger, I felt a little more "full" than I would eating just a double cheeseburger from McDonald's. Under the Weight Watchers system the McDonald's double cheeseburger is 10 points while Burger King's double cheeseburger is 12. In order to really help me feel satisfied and keep my points down, I usually have 1 or 2 pieces of fruit or a salad with dressing on the side to make it a true meal.
Burger King's flame-broiled double cheeseburger is 1/4 beef topped with 2 slices melted American cheese, pickles, ketchup, mustard, in a toasted sesame seed bun. McDonald's double cheeseburger has 2 beef patties topped with 2 slices American cheese, ketchup, mustard, pickles, and onions inside a regular bun. Below, I breakdown the nutritional facts for calories, fat, cholesterol, sodium, carbohydrates, dietary fiber, sugar and protein in a comparison between the two cheeseburgers:

Thanks to a conveniently closer Burger King restaurant, a cheap price, and the higher percentage of meat with that mouth-watering flamed-broiled taste, I have a new favorite burger to add to my repertoire. While I still love and will continue to buy McDonald's double cheeseburgers, I give Burger King's double cheeseburger two thumbs up.
