Burger Restaurants in Maryland: 3 of My Favorites

Cheeburger Cheeburger, Five Guys and Foster's Grille Burgers Are Really Really Good!

Mary Martin
If you are hungry for a really good burger and you are near Gaithersburg, Maryland you are in luck. As a matter of fact I can suggest three really really good burger restaurants that I know will satisfy your burger craving. The best one is the one you are in at the time. They are all so good that I honestly can't say that one is better than the other! Really! They are that good.

Cheeburger Cheeburger restaurant is located at 14921 Shady Grove Road, Rockville, Maryland and the phone number is 301-309-9555 they are open 7 days a week M-Th until 9:30pm and on Fri and Sat until 11pm. My husband and I ate there last night (gotta do research) and oh, oh, oh wow. First of all it is like taking a step back in time just walking through the door. It seems like you just entered a 50s burger joint. After you are seated and you begin to look at the menu you realize that no burger joint in the 50s ever offered so much in the way of food selection. The menu does contain a lot more than burgers, fries and drinks. We immediately scanned the burger selections: the fries and onion rings did not escape our notice though nor did the milkshakes. The burgers on the menu are classified as The Classic (The beginner burger), The Semi-Serious (Not too little, not too big), The Serious (a ½ pounder), The Delirious (a ¾ pounder), and The Famous Pounder. I ordered The Classic with American cheese, onion, tomato and lettuce and my husband ordered The Serious with avocado, black olives and Swiss cheese. You may order almost anything you can think of to be placed on your burger. We also ordered a basket of half and half onion rings and fries and two milkshakes a chocolate cappuccino for me and a chocolate peanut butter banana shake for my husband. The service was good and the food was excellent. The burgers were so good!

Five Guys Burgers and Fries restaurant is located at 15784 Shady Grove Road, Gaithersburg, Maryland 20877 and the phone number is 301-869-3711 they are open 7 days a week from 11am until 10pm. This is a small restaurant that delivers big on burgers and fries. We chose take out during the summer hours. The food is prepared while you wait. The menu is limited to two sizes of burgers, several kinds of hot dogs, grilled cheese and veggie sandwiches and plain or Cajun fries. You can ask for most anything you can think of on the burger. While you wait you are free to shell and eat peanuts. We both had cheeseburgers with lettuce, onion, tomato, and pickles. We also ordered the hand cut French fries which are excellent. The burgers were so good!

Foster's Grille restaurant is located in the Turning Point Plaza, 8925 Fingerboard Road, Urbana, Maryland 21704 and the phone number is 240-699-0194 they are open 7 days a week from 11am-9pm Sun-Thurs and until 10pm on Fri and Sat. When you enter the grille you are able to pick up an order pad and fill out your order before you are seated. The menu includes burgers, other sandwiches, wings, fries, salad, fruit, fresh squeezed lemonade and milkshakes. We chose burgers. My husband ordered onion rings and I ordered fries. We had soda to drink. Once you turn in your order sheet you chose a seat and are brought your drink selection. The burgers and sides arrived in baskets. The burgers were so good!

Ouch Sheryl. Thanks so much for reading and commenting. Take care of yourself. Maybe a cheesburger would help...temporarily: it couldn't hurt. Smiles!

I'm a cheeseburger-holic. Please excuse me if I'm not around a lot lately - I'm having a series of bad disk flare ups in my back, and must sit at computer only to do whatever articles I can, so can't spend a lot of time doing comments.

I agree, Major, they do sound good. I just submitted a similar article to AC this morning for Philadelphia. I'm ready to eat a burger for breakfast.
