I am sure that because this is a big celebration year they will have some pretty special entertainment. Past entertainers included Finger 11 and Kim Mitchell but many more througout the years.
Burlington also promotes a street festival during this long weekend as well. Brant street is blocked off from Lakeshore to Caroline Street. But don't worry they do provide shuttles to get downtown.
The concert is totally free and all are welcome. Bring family and friends this is a fun event. The comittee has not posted the attractions as of yet but here is a link to the official website for more details.

I would definitely recommend checking this festival out if you are new to the community. It is fun to attend and it is a safe community at night. All of the bars and restaurants downtown participate in some fashion or another usually providing live entertainment during this event. Whether you are into rock, jazz, country, it is does not matter this event caters to all music lovers.
The park concerts are free, but bring a sweater the nights are still really cold when the sun goes down in June. Bring your own lawn chairs and blankets. This is important if you are going to the concerts at night.
In past events they have put down straw on the ground because of rain. I think it has rained at every sound of Music festival I have attended. But it was tolerable. The crowd is endless. If you don't like crowds you can still here the music pretty far into area. So if you want to park away and just listen to the music this is doable.
As far as parking during this time, it is somewhat difficult to find a decent spot. Take a shuttle bus from one of their pickup locations if at all possible.
All in all as far as festivals go this is one of the better ones I have attended. Go with a group travel to a few bars and take in the Music. I would definitely recommend this event to visitors of the city and new residents.
