Official Synopsis:Michael's worst fears come to life when a world class terrorist is unleashed on Miami, threatening to detonate a bomb if Michael doesn't give him what he wants.
There are SPOILERS in this recap.
Last week we saw Michael's so-called partner Gilroy end up dead, but not before revealing that Simon was back. Simon, in case you may not know, is the doppleganger that Michael has and is virtually the whole reason he was blacklisted...burned.
The cops and Homeland Security are hot on Michael's tail now as Gilroy is dead and things are getting overly hairy. Sam gets together Fiona and Michael's mom for a meeting between all four of them at the emergency emergency spot. Michael's mom never quite makes it though as the FBI is pressing down on her hard for information on his whereabouts. So now it is up to the three remaining to find Simon before he finds Michael.
Simon finally shows up and thanks to numerous television screens, he shows Michael all of the horrible terrorist events that earned him his burn notice. Simon is looking to get his life back or else he'll set off a huge amount of explosives in a Miami hotel and now is looking to "hire" Michael in hopes of getting a hold of Management.
The FBI continues to interrogate Michael's mom and show her pictures of all of the crimes that he (Simon) committed making her give up the location where she was supposed to meet her son. Luckily enough, Sam and Fiona have located Simon's hotel bomber and found out the location of the bomb. That doesn't make things easier for Michael though as he somehow has to get Management to where Simon wants him in order to be in compliance. Luckily he knows a trick or two.
Fiona and Sam have stumbled across the bomb and it is a doozy of one too. A little liquid nitrogen and the bomb is defused successfully (?). Meanwhile, Simon has dropped off Michael to put his plan and team into action so that he can meet up with Management at 6PM. Oh yeah, and Michael's mom is off to jail thanks to not wanting to give up any more information on her son and refusing to believe that the terrorist acts were his doing.
Management shows and meets up with Michael to discuss the meeting with Simon. Management says that he takes no chances when it comes to Simon, but he severely underestimated the maniac and ends up in seeing his helicopter explode. Simon takes Management hostage in an ambulance and it is then that Michael grabs a truck and is in hot pursuit. Michael gets the upper hand on Simon though until the police show up and take them both into custody as Management takes off.
The FBI though? They no longer have Michael in custody and have no idea where he is so his mother is free to leave with no clue on how to find her son. All we're left is one final shot of Michael in a blue jumpsuit and in a room that looks like a library.
Alright, so it wasn't some over-the-top cliffhanger that we are left with, but I'd surely like to know what the hell is going on. The interaction between Michael and Simon was pretty good and enjoyable leading up to the eventual showdown. But now we have to wait until June in order to find out what this is all about? Oh man, come on!
I'm rather surprised that we got as much information as we have now about Michael's actual burn notice. It almost would make you think that the series is on its way out or something, but I feel as if we aren't even close because this is just the end of season three. This was one of those episodes though that went by so quickly considering it was over before I even knew it. Full of action, suspense, and a lot of confusion; I'd have to say this is one of the best season finales of Burn Notice so far in the series short life.
But we're left with so many questions.
Where the hell is Michael?
Is Simon in jail or did he get off free?
Where is Michael?
Are Fiona and Sam ok or are they still out there searching?
WHERE IS MICHAEL?
Guess we won't find out until June, but it's going to be a long two months.

Post a CommentI wonder if Michael is in like solitary prison/confinement, except since he is Management's "insurance," he is getting much better treatment. Simon is still out there I think. The guy's too bright to get caught SECOND time. Fiona and Sam are probably fine, and I doubt if they'll figure out where Michael is, but they will likely find some information about Management in Season 4. Two most memorable remarks: "You will be just like me... just like me" (Simon to Michael) and "You have a very bright future ahead of you, very bright" (Management to Michael)
Great coverage.
