Burn Your Way to a Great CD Collection

The last couple of years I've spent building my personalized music collection and, I have to say it can be time-consuming, but well worth it. I not only download and burn music for myself, I burn music for family and friends.

I like to give them custom made Cd's with all their favorite songs on the CD. My grandchildren also enjoy receiving Cd's as a gift, they even write me lists of songs they want. I also burn Cd's for their friends as well, so that my grandchildren can give them as a gift. I also burn comedy CDs with my favorite comedians, Larry the cable guy, Ron White and Jeff Foxworthy to name a few. Some of my family and friends also enjoy receiving comedy CDs as well.

Getting started is easy, but first you need a program in which to download music. I use limewire to find and download music and comedy. You can't burn any music right on limewire, so you will need to use a program like Window Media player or real player. I use Windows Media player to burn mine, but you can use any program you like. Next buy good quality CDs, I would suggest Sony and Maxell, but you can use whatever brand you like. Now we are ready to choose the music we want to download. i usually have songs in mind and I make list, sometimes I will find songs along the way that I had forgotten about long ago, I will either add them or put them on one of my future lists.

OK, so you found the songs you wanted, be sure to listen to the whole song first, be sure it is the actual song you want and it is a complete song, and had no glitches or other problems with the song. Download as many songs as you like, you can have several play lists with the songs you want on each CD. I usually work on one CD at a time, also make sure all the songs on the play list will fit on the CD, the minutes will be listed next to the song, add them up so you don't go overtime, most CDs are 80 to 90 minutes long.

Not only can you find and download music, you can rip music from other CDs that you or someone else has and burn it. You can also find your favorite and forgotten songs on old albums, 8 track tapes and cassette tapes. Why buy CDs for 1 or 2 songs when you can burn your own. I really enjoy making my own CD collection. I also love creating CDs and giving them as gifts to family and friends, they love receiving them as well, not to mention it make a really special gift, and they make a nice keepsake as well.
