Developed by IMS, Burnball is an arcade game that is basically an enhanced version of Qix. Players connect lines from opposing sides of the screen, ultimately blocking off that part of the game area. Game controls are excellent, as are the graphics and the story line.
A lite version of the game is available on the App Store as well. The lite version comes with a few levels of game play. Players may want to check this version out first before buying the full game.
Features
This game has the following features:
Excellent game controls
Great graphics
Good sound quality
A new take on the classic Qix
Main Review
The game play is very basic. It takes a lot from the classic game of Qix. Players need to connect lines from one side of the game area (or the screen) to the other, ultimately blocking off that area of the screen.
Game controls are very straight forward and easy to use. The accelerometer is used for both direction and speed. The one negative aspect would be the absence of calibration.
This is a casual arcade game. Players can get into the game quick, have a good time, and go do something else, going back to the game after some time without taking any of the novelty away. Not exactly unique in its concept, the game is still thoroughly entertaining what with the excellent game control mechanism (using the accelerometer), enjoyable graphics, a delightful story, and a wide variety of enemies.
The game is enjoyable, with high quality graphics, respectable game controls and decent sound effects. Players can go back to this game anytime they want and not be bored at all.
Pricing
Burnball is available at the App Store for $0.99. This is a great value for an outstanding game! A Lite version of the game is also available.
Conclusion
The game graphics are very well done, as are the in-game sound effects. Game controls are well executed. Replay value is very, very high. All in all, the game gets a high rating of 4.5 out of 5. Highly recommended!
