Burt's Bees Baby Bee Buttermilk Soap

Not for Babies Only!

Cindy Leggett
At my house, we are lovers of soap. I inherited the tendency from my mother. She has always been a sort of soap collector, having at least one bar of every type of soap you can generally find at a grocery store on hand at all times, "just in case" we have some sort of a soap shortage. I get tired of using the same brands over and over again, and went hunting for some alternate soaps that the whole family could use.

I am not ashamed to announce to the world that I am a Burt's Bees junkie. I love every product that this company makes. Recently, I had a shopping spree at drugstore.com and stocked up on all of the Burt's Bees products that I cannot find locally. One of my new favorites is the Baby Bee Buttermilk Soap. Just because it says "baby" on the package does not mean it isn't suitable for adults. It is an extremely gentle soap, 98.47% natural, made of all vegetable ingredients, and great for sensitive skin of all ages. Here is the list of ingredients-

Vegetable soap base

Glycerin

Buttermilk powder

Oatmeal flour

Fragrance

I really like the size and shape of this soap. Instead of being a regular sized rectangular bar, it is a nice sized round shape that fits perfectly in the palm of my hand. It has a sweet, gentle scent like creamy honey that stays with you like a light perfume. It's very gentle on the skin, leaving it moist and soft. Anyone with sensitive skin will truly enjoy using this soap. My mother is a chemotherapy patient and has found that the treatments have left her skin very sensitive. She was quite a fan of Dove soap for many years, but found that it now irritates her skin. Her oncologist suggested trying a baby soap, and since I already had a bar of Baby Bee Buttermilk on hand, she gave it a trial. She has fallen in love with the soap just like I have! She loves the way it lathers up richly and easily and rinses clean without leaving a slippery feeling on her skin.

Burt's Bees does not test any of their products on animals. I always look for this when trying out a new product. Their packaging is also printed on recycled board containing 30% post-consumer waste, so it is also recyclable. I enjoy buying products from a company that obviously cares so deeply about animals and the environment.
