When you live in a household full of cats and dogs, plus two rambunctious kids and their friends, you really need some sort of multi-purpose medicated ointment that will soothe and heal the skin. After trying many different brands and formulations over the years, I can say without hesitation that Burt's Bees Doctor Burt's Res-Q Ointment is one of the best things that ever happened to my family. We have used this ointment for so many different types of bumps, bruises, stings and scrapes that are a typical part of an active home life with children and pets.

I can vouch for its effectiveness with cat scratches. I am prone to get good sized, red scratches on my arms and legs almost daily from the loving onslaught of six indoor cats. Amazingly, an application of the Res-Q Ointment magically causes the scratches to almost disappear completely. All of the red color is gone, and only a faint pink line is left behind to remind you that a scratch was once there. It is said that the herb lavender and also Vitamin E have natural antibiotic properties, which makes this ointment suitable for anything you would normally use Neosporin or a similar medicine for. It is wonderful for healing burns - even better than aloe vera in that respect. We keep a tin of Res-Q in the kitchen for just that purpose.

Doctor Burt really knows what he's doing when it comes to inventing something that takes the sting out of an insect bite. His ointment is wonderful for the annoying itchiness that seems to be the plague of summer mosquito or chigger bites. It stops the itching completely and even aids in healing the bug bites by the next morning! Truly, I have never seen anything that works quite as quickly as this Res-Q ointment does. I would really hate to be with out it as it has so many uses. The latest, and possibly best use we have found for this great product has been for helping to heal my daughter's eczema.
