Burt's Bees Garden Tomato Complexion Soap

Your Acne-prone Teen Will Love This!

Cindy Leggett
My son finally began to be troubled with acne at the age of 16. It seemed to happen almost overnight, and he had gotten to the point where he hated to look in the mirror. He was so upset to see his once flawless facial skin marred with red splotchy bumps. We immediately began to treat it with the usual products advertised for teenage acne problems, but none of them seemed to help very much, and in fact, most of them seemed to irritate his skin and make the acne worse.

I was ready to make an appointment with a dermatologist when we tried yet another product, Burt's Bees Garden Tomato Complexion Soap for Oily and Troubled Skin. I had picked up a sample sized bar in California while on vacation there, and had not opened it yet. I gave it to my son to use, and after using it twice a day for only two days, there was a noticeable improvement in his skin. He continued to use this soap as his only facial cleanser, and I am proud to say that his skin is completely cleared up!

Garden Tomato Complexion Soap is great for many reasons. It does not seem to strip the oil completely from the skin, as so many acne products do. This causes skin irritation, which is the last thing you want when you are also fighting acne. Instead, it leaves just enough oil behind to keep your skin healthy. Many teens do not know that when all oil is removed from the skin, whether by vigorous washing or use of harsh skin products, the oil glands go into overdrive to produce excessive amounts of oil, even more than is natural for you. This can cause breakouts.

So many of the acne preparations on the market are expensive. Garden Tomato is very reasonably priced, which is an added bonus. It's quite a large bar, and if only used on the face, should last you a long time. But, as teens sometimes have acne on their back or shoulders, this soap would also be great to use as an all-over body soap. It has a wonderful aroma of tomatoes, which will remind you of springtime in the garden. It actually does contain real tomatoes!

I don't think teenage boys normally go around extolling the virtues of a skin care product to their friends, but Burt's Bees Garden Tomato Complexion Soap is an exception. He has told everyone who will stand still long enough to listen about how wonderful this soap is, and how it has helped his acne. People will look at him and say, "You had acne?" They can't believe he once had a skin problem.

This truly is a fabulous product that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an inexpensive and natural solution to teenage acne.
