Burt's Bees Thoroughly Therapeutic Honey & Grapeseed Oil Hand Creme

A Highly Recommended Product

Rissa Watkins
Burt's Bees Thoroughly Therapeutic Honey & Grapeseed Oil Hand Creme combines honey and grapeseed oil to moisturize your dry hands. Burt's Bees prides itself on the fact that most of their products are 99 percent natural. This hand creme is no exception. So it's 99 percent natural, but would you want to use it?

When it comes to hand creme, the first thing you notice is the smell. Burt's Bees hand creme smells like honey. Not surprising since it does contain honey and beeswax. It is almost too sweet at first but the scent does fade after 10 minutes or so. The smell isn't overwhelming like some hand cremes can be. Feel free to put this one on in the office without worrying about your cube mates complaining.

One major complaint people have about hand cremes is the greasy feeling when you apply it. Burt's Bees hand creme doesn't feel greasy but it does feel almost sticky at first. It feels like a tiny layer of plastic is covering your hands. The first time I tried it I hated it. After several more uses I changed my mind.

It makes your hands feel protected. Even after washing my hands, Burt's Bees hand creme kept them moisturized with a single application.

Burt's Bees hand creme has rosemary extract and Vitamin E. Rosemary is supposed to promote cell renewal. Vitamin E is an antioxidant that is supposed to fight free radicals. Together they should help your hands look smooth and healthy.

As a parent I wash my hands frequently. This has left my hands dry and itchy over time. I have been using this product for several days and have noticed that my hands do look better. They are smooth to the touch and don't have that dishpan hands look.

The cost of Burt's Bees hand creme varies from store to store. It is usually in the $9-$12 range for a 2.6 oz. tube. Use it sparingly as a little goes a long way.

There is one thing about the product that I really don't like. It contains Macadamia nut oil. My child is allergic to nuts. I didn't realize this was in the product until I wrote this review. Burt's Bees should make a note on the product somewhere besides the ingredients list that it contains nut products.

Overall, I am happy with Burt's Bees hand creme and would recommend it. It is a product I will use at work to avoid any allergic reactions from my son. Plus I can tell people when they try to borrow it. "It's none of your beeswax!"

ok... so technically its Burts Bees chapstick. I don't want people thinking I randomly have a giant thing of lotion in my pocket. :-D

I like Burt's Bees products for the most part. Once I started making my own lotions and soap I started reading a lot of on-the-shelf ingredient labels. Burts seemed to be the most natural. I haven't tried this yet, though. Great review, and great reminder about allergies :)
