Bush Pardons 19 More

Ramos and Compean Not Among the Christmas Time Pardons

Tony Jingo
WASHINGTON (Dec. 23) -

John Allen Aregood of Riviera, Texas. Conspiracy to harbor and transport illegal aliens.

William Alvis III, of Flushing, Ohio. Possession of an unregistered firearm and cocaine distribution.

President Bush pardoned 19 more, including the above smugglers of drugs and people. Meanwhile, Bush continues to ignore two of his own agents incarcerated for keeping the same out of a country he led.

Ramos and Compean's Christmas wish is denied yet again by President Bush, a friend of Johnny Sutton, the Texas US Attorney that successfully turned justice on its ear by prosecuting these agents.

I used to say history would be kind to Bush and his legacy would be one of a Freedom loving president who in the face of fierce opposition remained resolute in his convictions for our sovereignty.

George Bush may have done to himself what George Soros could not. Bush may have accomplished this feat with his bumbling of an unpopular war, he dragged his feet on the surge while blood & treasure were being drained, and he maintained a lack luster record on immigration.

It may be that inappropriate attitude toward immigration that caused Bush to pardon those engaged in the transport of illegal aliens while refusing to pardon his Border Agents employed to protect us from the same.

We have seen convictions of corrupt agents in the past ranging from smuggling drugs and illegal aliens, which tops the list of betraying the badge and the country. The point however is the average sentence for these corrupt agents is 5-years.

Ramos and Compean were sentenced to 11 and 12 years, respectively. Ramos and Compean are not corrupt agents, they were protecting our country from illegal drugs and aliens.

Compare this to agents that abused their authority to commit crimes and you see the clear message.

Agents: If you go above and beyond to apprehend illegal smugglers be it of drugs and/or people we will thwart your efforts and manipulate the system to banish you for more than a decade, keeping you away from your family and the society you were trying to protect.

Agents: If you tarnish your shield and help the illegal smugglers, we will slap you on the wrist and discourage you from getting caught. Smarten up.

Please take a moment to contact the White House and express your outrage over this obvious Presidential oversight!

President George W. Bush on Tuesday granted a pardon posthumously to Charles Winters. Winters violated the Neutrality Act by illegally supplying aircraft to Jews fighting in Israel's 1948 war of independence and considered to be a hero in Israel.

Excellent article. How does the president decide whom to pardon? There are Ramos and Compean, who are deserving, and then there are others, like the coyote you mention, who most certainly are not deserving. I just don't understand the thinking behind his decision.

Bush has certainly fallen from grace over his two terms as President. I can't say I'll be sorry to see him go. Nice reporting, Tony. :-)
