TK
A pre-survey done before the actual ethics formulation is vital in determining the nature, scope, form and extend of moral values a company should set up. As a business culture, moral practices are nurtured with time. The formulation of the ethics dwells on the following subjects;

Employee needs, expectations, norms and moral value

The basis of good performance in an organization is partly reflected through the company's ability to provide a framework of acceptable employee norms and moral standards. For instance, a company should employ, promote and reward its employees on a level play ground. A case where some workers are treated special than others should be avoided as this may be an impediment to the company's goals and objectives realization. For example, the practice of racism in an organization should be curbed as it is immoral.

Employees are also governed by different religious and societal beliefs. The management should respect the right to worship for the different religious worker it accommodates.

Customer expectations

The ethical standards set by the company should focus on the customers needs. When the employees are interacting with the clients, they should portray a code of conduct that is acceptable by the consumers. The practice of ethical standards in a business environment is carried out right from simple telephone conversations, to the complex situations involving customer complaints handling. Communication is a key aspect in ethical presentation. The image of a company can be tainted by poor ethical practices

Organization rules and regulations

The rules and regulations governing employees in a company perform the role of guidance in ethics practice. Training should be carried to enlighten the staff on ideal ethical code of conduct. It should be a continuous process. Rules and regulations can be presented through written formalized status. Moreover, some ethical practices require personal discipline and are reflected through workers ability to solve problems and handle company issues mutually and professionally.

Company goals and objectives

An organization will formulate ethical practices that are in line with its goals and objectives. Recruiting the best employees in an organization can be used as an ethical practice aimed at driving the company to improved performance.

External governing laws

These are the state laws which are set by the government and enforced through various departments to guide the companies and protect the different stakeholders. The government applies these laws in order to safeguard the interest of the employees, consumers and the society as well as the physical environment. A company that emits industrial waste to the environment should be guided on the acceptable emissions levels that can be released into the environment. The disposal of wastes is also governed by these laws. It is the responsibility of the company to apply sound ethical practices in all its areas of operation. Similarly, the laws protects the employees right such as the companies obligation to pay wages, organize viable retirement schemes and offer conducive working environment that does not pose a threat to the life of the employee. For example, staff working in a company that emits dangerous chemical wastes should be provided with personal protective equipments and cloths.

Organizations should be guided by discipline when formulating ethics and should put in place all factors of ethical presentation.
