Business Start Up Grants

How to Survive and Even Prosper During a "green Revolution" Using Business Start Up Grants

Carl Evangelista
Scarcity industrialism is an industrial society in the face of severe constraints. Peak Oil creates a scarcity industrialism economic and social system due to a severe shortage of oil. However, other scarcities can and do occur - water in the Middle East, food in Africa and Asia, and any other resource on which survival or society depends can create a scarcity industrial system. Our government has combined its emphasis on green energy, renewable energy projects, sustainable projects and its existing business start up grants' programs to give preference in its loans and grants to those targeting the next generation of "green" technology.

As society evolves, we cannot know what specific resource or resources will be in greatest demand in contrast to supply. A breakthrough energy source may not solve the water crisis. A second Green Revolution could bring an end to any food shortages, but not solve the problem of getting food and goods are needed. Since we do not know what resources may lead to scarcity industrialism, though oil and water are the two most likely ones, this advice is intended for any scarcity industrial system. This is why business start up grants to green entrepreneurs are so plentiful: every practical idea should get seed money so that we can have as many of these green technologies blossom before Peak Oil, energy shortages, and all other forms of scarcity industrialism wrack our society. But what could a budding entrepreneur do with these business start up grants?

Prosper by providing the supporting technologies to the scare resource. If water is in high demand, invest in an industrial sized desalinization unit or develop a means of manufacturing desalinization filters to sell to those with desalinization units. If well water becomes a highly prized commodity, then if you cannot own a series of drilling units, become the spare parts supplier for those who do. If peak oil makes wind power king, become the battery supplier for those who have wind turbines (and it will be useful for those who use solar, too). If gasoline is even more valuable but is traded over long distances, supply gas stabilizer compounds. Supply physical goods that are needed by those who supply or manufacture the scare good. This arrangement also aids your own odds of business' survival because you have close supplier relationships with those who control the supply of the scare product, thus are more likely to be able to acquire the product as well as have the means to trade for it. Use the business start up grants to start this business, knowing that it will flourish later.

Know the full supply chain for the high demand resource. Also learn its weak points. Then step in with services to shore up the weak points in distribution and profit from that. Where is it needed but there are no reliable suppliers? Become the supplier for that area. Is it frequently stolen in transit? Specialize in security for its shipments. Is concern about quality making people reluctant to buy what they need? Develop quality tests that can be done on the spot, like lab-tops that can be used to check water quality on site. By creating a service based business using the business start up grants, you also gain security by being able to offer these services to other clients, as well. There are many business opportunities that the coming recession or depression will bring, which can only be achieved by those willing to seek business start up grants in the "green" field.
