Butera Royal Vintage Cigar Review

Zachary Fruhling
As a cigar smoker, I usually prefer cigars that are medium to strong. But during a recent trip to my local cigar shop, I decided to get a lighter, less robust cigar. At the advice of the sales person, I bought a Butera Royal Vintage cigar. While I did not have high hopes for liking the Butera cigar, I was surprised to discover that I enjoyed the smoking experience of the Butera Royal Vintage cigar very much. Below I list several of the reasons that the Butera Royal Vintage cigar is an enjoyable smoking experience.

Taste of the Butera Royal Vintage Cigar

The Butera Royal Vintage Cigar has a smooth yet rich flavor, reminiscent of butter and smoked apples. The name of the Butera Royal Vintage cigar could very well have been "Butter" or "Buttery," since its flavor was mild yet complex with a creamy richness that was pleasant to the taste. The wrapper on the Butera cigars is significantly lighter than the wrapper on the full-flavor cigars that I usually enjoy (for example, the Arturo Fuente Hemingway cigars). But despite the lighter wrapper, the wrapper was pleasantly flavorful without being boring as I feared it might.

The Butera Royal Vintage Cigar Burns Evenly

Many cigars have problems with burning unevenly. But the Butera Royal Vintage cigar burned evenly without the need for relighting. The ash was even, with a medium to light gray color, indicating that the Butera cigars are wrapped evenly and consistently. Because the Butera cigars are rolled evenly, they provide an even draw allowing neither too much nor too little airflow while smoking. Despite the affordable price of the Butera cigars, they appeared to me to be manufactured with high quality.

Butera Royal Vintage Cigars are Affordable

Many of the cigars that I usually smoke are fairly expensive, ranging in price from around $10 to $20. The Butera Royal Vintage cigar that I sampled instead cost around $8.99. This means that with a Butera Royal Vintage cigar you can get a very pleasant smoking experience for a very reasonable price. Moreover, the Butera cigar smoked slower and more evenly than the average cigars that I smoke, which means I definitely got my money's worth in smoking a Butera cigar.

Conclusion

In conclusion, if you would like to try a light-bodied yet interesting-tasting cigar, you should try the Butera Royal Vintage cigar. Butera cigars may not appeal to cigar smokers who prefer full-bodied cigars such as a Maduro, but I was very pleased with the Butera cigar I tried, and I plan to include a Butera cigar into my cigar mix when I prefer a lighter cigar for a more relaxed smoking experience.
