Buy Green School Supplies on a Budget
A Back-to-school Guide to Buying Cheap, Environmentally-friendly School Supplies for Children
Absolutely not! During the year, I stock up on earth-friendly, green school supplies. As a student myself, I know what it's like to be on a tight budget, but it doesn't stop me from trying to protect our planet while also getting all the school supplies that I need for academic success. And I'll show you how!
Shopping Tips to Buying Cheap Green School Supplies on a Budget:
Buying green cheap school supplies while on a budget is all about your shopping skills. Yes, shopping for green school supplies is a skill! You need to shop smart.
First and foremost, remember the recycling mantra and reuse old school supplies! Reusing old products is the ultimate green way of living. If you have a bunch of those free pens from a job fair or community event, use them instead of buying new pens and pencils. Reusing old school supplies cuts back on waste being sent to the landfill, and also cuts back on the pollution caused by manufacturing, packaging and shipping new school supplies and products.
Second, buy green school supplies in bulk. I love buying green school supplies in bulk. It usually saves on both individual product retail prices, and the cost of shipping. Can't use all 500 recycled green notepads? Most people would love to use earth-friendly products; just find other parents or students who want to help split the cost.
Third, don't shop in the store's back-to-school section! A lot of these school supply displays aren't selling the cheapest school supplies. Instead, look for green school supplies in the office section of the store. These are often cheaper than the name-brand school supplies being sold in the back-to-school section.
And finally, don't let your budget stop you from doing the green thing and protecting our environment from pollution and manmade destruction. If your green school supplies are a little more expensive than regular, mainstream products, think of it as an investment. Can you really put a price tag on our collective efforts to preserve the world around us for future children and future students? I don't think so.
Every little effort matters. Make the green choice and purchase green school supplies, even on a budget. If we work together, we can make a difference for the environment...one green school supply product at a time.
