Buy a House and Get a Car: Two for One Deal

Builders Incentives Reach New Territory to Increase Sales

You've just bought a new town home and they hand you the keys for the front door. Then they hand you another set of keys for a free Honda Civic.

With the real estate market suffering it's toughest period in two decades, some builders and developers, such as Mid-America Development Partners, are turning to just such incentives to sell homes.

According to the Southtown-Star Newspaper, purchasers of the remaining homes in one Illinois town can take care of two of life's biggest purchases at one time, and only pay for the home.

Buyers in Oak Lawn's Arbor Court subdivision can either subtract the cost of the Honda from the purchase cost of the home, or can take the deal and park the new car curbside.

The Arbor Court subdivision is a development of the Morningside Group, which has residential and commercial projects in Illinois and Michigan.

Morningside Group was founded by David Strosberg, in 1993, and specializes in finding the opportunities for better land use within urban settings.

Strosberg, Morningside Group's CEO, is a licensed architect and is very hands on in all his developments.

Oak Lawn is a an older suburb of Chicago, with a population of 55,245, according to the US Government Census, and is located fifteen miles from Chicago's Loop.

It was first settled in 1842, and saw periods of significant growth, in 1881, with the coming of the Wabash Railroad, and again after World War II during the 1960s.

Most of the housing in Oak Lawn was built during the post war period.

Arbor Courts is part of the ongoing redevelopment of Oak Lawn's downtown, which is located along 95th Street, or US Routes 12 and 20.

There are eight more homes to sell. Prices range from $265,900 to $315,900.

This is a limited time offer, according to a spokeswoman from Mid-America Development Partners, but there is still time to take advantage of this great incentive.
