Buy Inexpensive Presents for Your Dog Online

Laura Spencer

Who gives affection without condition? Who's there to greet you, tail wagging, each time you come home? Who can you tell your secrets to and be sure that they are safe? Who lets you know when someone's at the door? Why it's your dog, of course.

Your dog is truly a part of your life and your family and he or she has his or her own unique personality. Don't forget to include your dog on your holiday shopping list this season. You don't have to spend a fortune to include your dog in the festivities, and hasn't your dog earned it?

This article identifies three online sites where you can buy inexpensive dog treats and presents without ever leaving the comfort of your home. It also highlights selected gifts available at each site.

Petco.com

Petco.com is a great source for canine Christmas shopping! A nifty gift from Petco.com is a bundle of rawhide "candy canes" for $5.99. Each bundle of 12 comes wrapped in a red ribbon. Booda rope chew toys are also available from around three dollars to around eleven dollars, depending on the size of the dog. The Day at the Park Doggie Gift Pack includes everything your dog could want or need when you take him or her to the park: a Chuckit! Tennis Ball Launcher, 2 Bowl Buddies Travel Bowls, Bil-Jac Liver Treats, and a PETCO Frisbee. The Day at the Park Doggie Gift Pack is available for around $20.00. Tasty treats available at Petco include: Hill's Science Diet Training Treats at $2.99, Natural Balance Roll-A-Rounds Crunchy Lamb Formula Treats for Dogs at $6.49, and Castor & Pollux Organix All Natural Organic Dog Cookies at $6.99.

Petsmart.com

Petsmart is online at www.petsmart.com. There are plenty of inexpensive dog toys and treats at this site. If your order is over $50.00 before the end of 2006, your shipping is free. Would your dog enjoy a Loofa Plush Dog Toy? This long, narrow toy with a squeaker is only $4.99. Does your dog sleep with a teddy bear? Perhaps they would enjoy the Holiday Ice Puppy Plush & Vinyl Toy for $4.49. Maybe your dog prefers a selection from Ty®'s line of Beanie Babies for dogs: Ty® Bow Wow Beanies™? For $4.99 to $5.00 your dog can have its very own version of many popular Beanie BabiesTM including: Nuts the squirrel, Snort the bull, Patti the platypus, Quackers the duck, and many more. Edible treats at Petsmart include all of your dogs favorites such as Iams® Tartar Treats™ Medium Dog Treats and Milk-Bone® Dog Biscuits from $4.99.

EntirelyPets.com

There are some wonderful treats for your dog at EntirelyPet.com (www.entirelypets.com). Currently, if you order over $100, your shipping is free! (See the website for details.) At this site I found cigars and truffles for my dog. No, not real cigars and truffles, but Ranch Rewards Munchy Puparillos Cigars or Ranch Rewards Munchy Truffles. These tasty rawhide treats are shaped like cigars or truffles and come in packaging that looks like a cigar box or a candy box. There are 12 "cigar" treats in a box and 28 "truffle" treats in a box. Either box costs only $4.99. This site also featured a Munchy Filled Holiday Stocking that is filled with rawhide chews in a variety of fun shapes for only $4.99. For $4.95 your dog can have his or her very own red felt Santa hat (no dog's holiday wardrobe is complete without one). For a little bit more money, $5.99, your dog can chew on Holiday Tug-N-Ring Santa.

Conclusion

It's easy to find reasonably priced gifts that your dog can enjoy. You can explore gifts at the sites listed above, or come up with your own idea. Just don't forget to shop for man's best friend this holiday season.
