Black Friday is quickly approaching. We all know that this is the biggest shopping day of the entire Holiday season. The day marks the beginning of sales war between everyone. One of the hottest holiday battles every year happens to be between the game console companies. This year will be highlighted by the Nintendo Wii and Playstation 3. Both gaming systems are in great demand and everyone is trying to get their hands on one. However, the Nintendo Wii is the more popular of the two and everyone seems to want one. Media outlets are hammering home the fact of how popular the Wii is going to be this holiday season. Items that prove to be as popular as the Wii usually end up causing major holiday shortages. Nintendo is trying its absolute best to produce enough units to fill the need. The company has gone on record and stated that it is producing nearly 2 million Wiis per month. That is a lot of gaming systems to produce. Yet, there still is a major problem on hand. The company is actually not producing enough.

Nintendo of America's marketing chief George Harrison released a statement via the companies corporate website. He let everyone know that they are indeed producing that many units each month. Even though they are doing so, they are having to make very tough decisions as to where they should send shipments to on a weekly basis. They started production for the Holiday season months ago, but believe that the mass production may prove to not be enough. This could result in a lot of unhappy kids on Christmas morning.

One of the main reasons for the Nintendo Wii selling so well has to do with the price. The gaming system is a lot more affordable than the Playstation 3. You can find most Wiis on sale for nearly $150 dollars less than the PS3. Consumers are picking up the Wii at a rapid pace because of this reason. This does not mean that the PS3 is struggling at all. They actually just recorded their first successful month over Nintendo. Experts attribute this to the gaming system coming out with many lower prices systems.

This coming Black Friday is certain to have a lot of deals. Sadly, none of the gaming systems will be for sale. They will be selling at the same exact price. Still, you would be crazy to not purchase one during the hectic event. Many people try to do their most expensive shopping on this day. They also purchase items they do not need because they are worried for a price mark up. You should purchase a Wii as soon as you can.
