Buyer's Guide for Men's Mountain Bikes

Whether you want to purchase a bike for exercise or sport, there are a number of things to consider other than price. Do you want a road or mountain bike? Are short trips around town more your style, or do you prefer the rugged endurance of the mountains? Have you competed in sports prior to this, or are you currently thinking about competing? When choosing a bike and a brand, keep these things in mind.

Road, or racing bikes, are lighter in weight, and built for speed, while mountain bikes have to be tough enough to withstand the hazards of the trails. Below is a list of the top five brands:

Schwinn

The Katana Road Bike is extremely affordable, but lightweight and durable enough for racing. It has 14 speeds, and a smooth ride. Two sizes are available and it's well suited for man who rides longer distances. Price: Approximately $350.00

Jeep Wrangler

The Jeep Wrangler Men's Bike is 19", as compared to the 26" Schwinn, but it has 21 speeds with Tourney gearing. It's also versatile, and can be used on the road or trails. GMC

The GMC Men's Yukon XL Road Bike is 21 inches, and can be used for racing as well as exercise. It's aluminum alloy frame makes it light weight enough for speed. Cadillac

The Cadillac Elite Road Series RLE 1.8 Road Bike Is a high-end bike built for speed. It is available in two different frame sizes. With 18 speed Shiman gear system and dual control levers, this bike has excellent handling. It also boasts a rear carbon seat post that not only will help reduce your fatigue but will also absorb road shock. Price: Approximately $900.00

Lamborghini

The Lamborghini Classica Road Bike can be used as a racing or commuter bike. It's durable and lightweight, due to a buffed aluminum custom frame. With 14 speeds this bike can be used by those who want to bike for exercise or pleasure. This is also a good purchase to begin training for racing. Price: Approximately $500.00
