Buying Art on Ebay: Nibblefest - an Untapped Resource for Cheap Original Works of Art

Lori Adams Hunter
Most people have never heard of Nibblefest, a monthly art competition on eBay where the Artists are required to list their work starting at .99 cents. From the 20th to the 27th of each month collectors can find some amazing deals on original artworks. The competition has a different theme each month and the styles of artwork vary from abstract to realism to the surreal. There are some very talented Individuals that belong to the NFAC group and they put all their talents to good use on artwork for the monthly contest. This Months theme is Birds and bees and there is some very good work up for bid.

If you're a long time art collector or just looking for a way to pass some time, checking out the art on eBay can be both fun and profitable. The internet has opened a way for Artists all over the world to show their skills to others who would never have a chance to see it otherwise. Ebay has become a gallery for self taught and trained artists who don't have gallery representation, and that means you save money.

Many Galleries charge their artists a percentage of their sales anywhere from 40 to 60% on average. That means big markups so the artist can afford supplies and gallery fees and still make a profit. On top of the huge price hike on Gallery art there is also the issue of variety. Only the viewer knows what they like, but in a gallery you may miss out on a great deal of beautiful and interesting work that the gallery may not deem suitable according to the latest trends. Shopping for art on eBay gives the buyer greater variety and a chance to decide for themselves what makes great art. Who needs to be told what they like?

Not only is eBay art shopping good for the buyer, but in a lot of cases, eBay artists rely solely on their art sales to make a living. Many are stay at home Moms or people who could not ordinarily make a living doing other things.
Supporting these artists is important. By doing so we make it possible for them to continue using their God givin gifts while at the same time supporting their families and themselves. Nibblefest art starts at .99 cents, but most NFAC artist have other work for sale at varying prices. Nibblefest is a great way to sample artwork and find out who your new favorite artists are.

It's easy to find the monthly Nibblefest Art Contest, just type NFAC into your eBay search and sit back to be amazed. You can find anything from original paintings to handmade art jewelry, all from artists of varying styles and skill levels. You may just find yourself with a fun new passion. Have fun and happy bidding.
