Buying Christmas Cards: Tips to Find Christmas Cards at Various Locations

Each year, I find myself giving out more and more Christmas cards, whether they be to new friends, co-workers, family members, and neighbors, and it makes it much easier when I am able to find an assortment of cards that will mirror the beliefs of those I send them to. By visiting the following locations, you will have the opportunity to find the best assortment of cards as well.

#1: Hallmark I am a big fan of Hallmark's greeting cards. Not only are there individual cards that I often purchase for my husband, parents, sister, and other family members, but there are boxed cards as well. Hallmark also has cards that celebrate Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, and other holidays for those who do not celebrate Christmas traditionally. While Hallmark's cards appear to be the costliest of the list I've compiled (up to $14.95/box), the quality of each card is sometimes worth the extra money.

#2: Kohl's Kohl's has a wide selection of cards as well, particularly cards that are humorous and quirky. They also have several boxes of cards that are inspirational. These cards are most often on sale each week, sometimes up to 40% off their original value. If you shop the day after Thanksgiving or the week before Christmas, you'll likely receive 40%-60% off of different card selections. Individual cards are also available, but the selection is not large.

#3: Target Target has both individual and boxed cards that celebrate different holiday seasons, and the prices aren't too expensive for the quality of the cards. Target has very funny and silly cards available, along with different shapes and sizes that I don't often see in other stores.

#4: Wal-Mart Of course, Wal-Mart is another place to buy both individual and boxed cards for the holiday season, and is good for inexpensive cards. Wal-Mart has a decent amount of holiday card selections, but the quality does not appear to be as nice as those found in Hallmark. Of course, Wal-Mart does have the lowest prices, so it is a good place to shop if you have several cards to send this year.

#5: Carlton Cards Carlton Cards is another specialty card store, which is similar to Hallmark. They sell individual and boxed cards in a variety of holiday options, and the prices on individual cards compare to Hallmark as well. They have a wide selection of choices for individual cards, but do not carry many boxed cards.

#6 Family Christian Stores Family Christian Stores carry inspirational holiday cards, and have a small selection of both individual cards and boxed cards. Each card carries an inspirational message, and is a good choice for these types of cards. They have cards for Secret Santa or Secret Sister gift exchanges as well.

Tip: Buy Christmas cards the week between Christmas and New Years Day, as most stores will have them on sale for at least 50% off. I do this each year and save money doing so, as long as I am able to store the cards well to use for the next round of holiday card exchanges.
