Electric: Another key element to finding the best guitar for beginners is to look at what style of music you want to play. The type of guitar you choose should vary on whether you would like to play rock, blues, soft rock, or even country.
If you are looking into playing a more rock oriented guitar, the Fender Squier Strat might be for you. It is relatively cheap (180-230 dollars), and it is one of the more basic guitars which is great for beginners. The great thing about this guitar is that once you have passed the beginner stage, you can move up and buy something a little more expensive without worrying about your old guitar since it is so relatively cheap. This guitar is great for beginners because it is so balanced overall. Nothing is any worse about the guitar than other parts. It is durable, inexpensive, and very versitile in all its components.
After you pass the stage of the Fender Squier Stratocaster, you can easily move up to the Fender Stratocaster, which is my personal favorite. It is only about 350 dollars and it is used by many famous musicians. Eric Clapton, John Frusciante, David Gilmour, Eric Johnson, and many more famous guitarists all use this model of Fender.
Acoustic: If you are looking to play an acoustic guitar try looking for a Seagull S6. These are the most simplified and basic models of an acoustic guitar. Acoustic guitars are a bit more expensive than electric guitars, so keep that in mind when you look into buying one of these. The Seagull S6 runs for about 350 dollars, but they do have a high resale value if you ever pass the beginner stage and look for a better guitar.
Both the Seagull S6 and the Fender Squier Strat are the most basic guitars that you can find and each will help you on your road to become a great guitarist. Though the Squier Strat is a little less expensive, the Seagull has a much higher resale value, so if you are trying to decide between the two just go with whichever sound you prefer: electric or acoustic.
