Manu Sharma Granted Parole - Who is to Blame?

Jaywalker Jr
Manu Sharma was convicted and sentenced to life for the murder of 34 year old model Jessica Lal who was shot and murdered in cold blood by him on the night of the 29th April 1999. It took all of seven years to get him behind bars - today he stalks the streets a free man - Why, or How?

The ability of politicians to turn and twist the law to suit themselves and their spoiled siblings has been exhibited with malice towards the middle class citizens of the country once again. This time with impunity.

Influential politicians, have shown us once again that they can come out in public and that too on national media and show the entire country just how blatantly and shamelessly they can flout the law.

Strings have definitely been pulled and officials of the judiciary and the government are definitely acting according to some very strange instructions. Otherwise convicted murderer of Jessica Lal, the and son of an influential Congress politician, would not have been let out on parole to stalk the streets once again. His parole application was refused by the courts in 2007 because of the cold blooded heinous crime he committed. However, the corrupt ways of politics has raised its ugly head once again and Manu Sharma was let out on parole, this time the application process took all of 6 days, and he was found brawling, like all hoodlums do, once again in a bar in Delhi. Sharma was supposed to have been let out to take care of his ailing mother. But he was partying late at night in a bar. Was visits to a bar included in his parole application? This is not a violation say senior politicians and bureaucrats who seem to be bending over back ways to keem Sharma out of jail - they say that his application was "just a misrepresentation of facts". This is just another way of saying that Sharma lied "legally".

It is not surprising that Sharma has been let out of prison. They just waited for public memory, which is notoriously short, to fade before they made their move. However, they never contemplated the media to jump in to claim its share of the glory and exposing the fraud that has been played against the people of India.

What is surprising is that the Chief Minister Sheila Dixit, has shown just how shameless she can be by literally throwing up her hands and not wanting to comment on how a murderer, who the country practically sentenced to life, was allowed to once again stalk the streets of the country. If orders were not issued, albeit unofficially, why did she not order the Delhi police to arrest a convicted murderer on parole involved in a fight and disturbing the peace? Obviously she could not because she was involved in his release in the first place.

It is a fact that paperwork was forged and false claims were made to get a murderer out into the streets, but who is to blame for not investigating the application in the first place? Will the investigators, officials and the person who signed the parole be sacked? No of course not, their political god fathers are already working to see that they are duly compensated for their service to spoiled brat and his corrupt father.

Question is, when a court has sentenced a person to life imprisonment - should anyone, ANYONE have the power to literally write off that verdict? I should think not, at least not without a lengthy trial that should include the victims and their legal representatives.

Was Jessica Lal's family even asked if they objected to his parole? Can injustice be any uglier? Will Sharma be thrown back into jail with no hope of ever getting out/ He did misconstrue facts in this application to get out - Will that be forgiven with the stroke of a pen?
