Here are some super resources for those of you who like online shopping (and bidding), or selling. Use these great resources and tools to help you with many things you do with online auctions such as eBay, that can save you time, money and heartache before buying or selling anything.

Ok, this one is a no brainer, but I had to put it at number one because, well, it's from the "horses mouth" so to speak. Ebay has so many helpful resources and tools to use that people in their hurry to buy or sell sometimes forget to look at the most common things. Here are some of their best tools.

For Buyer or Seller:

1. "Closed Item Search" or "Completed Items Search" on Ebay;

If you want to know what an item has sold for recently so you know what your item is worth (if you're selling), or if you want to buy a specific item and want to know what the average going price is you can actually just use their "Advanced Search" and enter your item in the blank box, then check off the "Completed Items" box, hit "search" and it will show you what the item has sold for recently. This is a remarkably helpful tool and much too often overlooked, but could really save you time and money.

2. EBAY "Completed Listings Search" ;

Just as easy, is the "Completed Listings" search under "Preferences". To find this, just go to ebay.com, type in your item of interest in the search bar and click "Search" as you normally would. Now, along the left column where you can see many headings such as, "Refine Search" and below that box you'll see another one called "Preferences". Under that heading you'll see things like "buying formats", "show only" and "location". Choose the "Completed Listings" button under "Show Only" box and it automatically sorts through those that have already sold and give you the run down. If the item is listed in RED, it did NOT sell, if it is in GREEN it DID sell. This way you can check out many attributes of the item and reasons it might have sold, or not. Very handy indeed.

3. Ebay for Sellers: Seller Information

If you want to sell something on Ebay there are many things you may want to research and get help with before jumping right in. Ebay offers tons of help with this and includes lots of seller help under the "Sell" tab, like: "Seller Information Center", "What's Hot" on eBay pulse, or "Seller Tools", "Shipping Center", "Apps Center" and even a "Sell for Charity" tab. Lots of good stuff under these and I recommend at least giving them a perusal before selling any item on Ebay.

4. For EBAY Buyers or Sellers on Ebay: Community

Ebay offers a wealth of information through their "Community" button too, such as the "Announcements" which will keep you up to date on their latest happenings, the all-important "Answer Center" which does just what it promises, answers almost anything about Ebay you'd want to know. And "Discussion Forums" if you want to post your ideas, questions, rants or what-have you with the rest of the Ebay community. Also "Groups", "Neighborhoods" and even a "Garden by eBay" where the newest ideas come from. All quite useful.

So here's the scenario: say a listing is misspelled and no one can find it (example; someone listed an item called "Harry Potted" instead of "Harry Potter" and no one finds his item because of the misspelling), but with this auction bargain finder free download it promised to also look through all the misspellings of the item you're looking for and bingo! ...you've just found it even cheaper because no one even bids on the misspelled item. Get it? I'm definitely going to try this one.
