Bye, Polar

and time rips away
all the things left behind
not even a picture
to tell who you were
and the sky cries wide
open above you
lets all the rage fall out
and coat the ground
and covers your footsteps
before you can breathe

and the stars you thought were falling
were only burning out
and the things you thought you knew
were fairy tales
and all of their sweet happy endings they give you
were ripped out and burned
like a pyre

rub the ashes into your skin
you can hide in the dark that way
and no one can see you
and no one can hear you
and no one can feel you
up there bigger than the world

I like what you're calling out as well as the who. Perhaps inward is the new religion.
