Cabbage Diet Soup with 5 Days Plan

Sandra M.
Basic diet for people would be using food pyramid, but that does not always work; at least not for me!

After I got my first child, I hit 220 lbs. it was hard for me to loose pounds. I tried so many diets, but nothing was working. I wanted the second child so much, but in back of my head was" you will gain more". Eventually I got pregnant, but surprisingly was not eating junk food, I had cravings for healthy. After delivery, I was 212 lbs. That was it for me! I had enough issues with my weight. I was upset and angry with myself.

I searched what is the best and easiest way to get myself in shape. I got the part to exercise, and eat healthy but obviously, that was not enough. I had to put myself in a mental stage of positive thinking that I can do it.

-You need be strong and positive.
-You need to look in the mirror and like what you see.
-You need to learn to love yourself all over again.

Positive attitude is always big plus in anything that you are doing. So think positive, and start slow. Weight loss is not something that can happen overnight, it takes time until you can see the progress. I love writing how I started, and what have worked for me.

Let me just let you that I lost 82 lbs. in period of 6 months, exactly 7 years ago. It was turning point for me. For sure, it was life changing.

I found the Cabbage diet soup, which is very hard diet plan of 7 days. I did not like it at all. Instead, I made my own Diet Cabbage soup.

I change it a bit, made it my own and it was to get me started. Get my stomach ready to be satisfied with less food, but more times a day. Cleanse my body of the fast food, and begin the new chapter of my life. However, I learn to listen to my stomach. What is accepting, so I do not depend on heartburn medications?

I am making this soup 5 days in advance and refrigerate, but if you are willing to make it every day then reduce the amount of ingredients.

You can eat the soup throughout the day, wherever you are hungry.

Cabbage soup
5 small Onion, finely minced
3 green papers
½ cup of dry lentils
1- Cup of brown rice,
2 carrots, shredded
2 celery sticks
½ can of whole tomatoes, or use few fresh med. size softer tomatoes
1-teaspoon olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
1 bag of shredded cabbage

Take a large pot and place the minced onions, already cut papers and carrots. When the onions are soft put salt and pepper as you wish- I liked it bit more spicy; mix it and then take all the ingredients and combine it in that pot. Pour the water just over the ingredients and cover it with the lid; let it simmer on medium high for about 40 minutes, or until the rice is soft.

Taste and see if you need more salt and pepper, add bit more water -optional (if you do need to add some water, let it boil one more time); Take it off the stove, and you done with that part.

Day 1:
You should start your first day with a fruit as a breakfast. Choose one kind of fruit at the time, but no bananas; do not eat them all at once. Use nuts for snack; but no more than handful. Eat soup when you hungry and fresh vegetables. Do not eat bread, pasta, meat, dairy products. Do not drink soda or sweet beverage. Instead drink plenty of water and un-sweet tea, but you can use 1 teaspoon of honey for the natural sweetener. In addition, you can drink coffee, but no cream or milk.

Day 2:
On a second day, stay on the same path. Eat fruit (no bananas), vegetable, cabbage soup and handful of nuts for the snack. However, for the dinner incorporate plane baked potato, do not use too much salt. Water is very important.

Day 3:
You will get sick of that soup and try to give up. Do not; stay strong; think about yourself and your goal. I know that you can do it! I know this because on the day 3 I was starting to smell fry chicken and mash potatoes. However, I wanted to complete my mission. On this day, again eat soup, fruit and veggies. Today you will eat 4 bananas. Eat slowly and one at the time through the whole day.

Day 4:
Fourth day should be day of activity. Eat soup, veggies and fruit as much as you can. For lunch, make 1 piece (3oz.) of Salmon fish fillet (not fried).Walk, or do anything that will keep you busy; but please let that be only light activity. Drink water, green tea or freshly squeezed juice...and coffee if you wish. Please, do not use unnatural sugar based treats; bread or pasta; nor soda, what so ever.

Day 5:
Fifth day is the last day; if you did it, I am very proud. Today you will eat fruit for breakfast. For lunch, eat cabbage soup with 3-4 fresh tomatoes. For dinner, make big, juice, lean steak. You can grill it or bake it. Do not fry anything!

This soup will jump-start your weight loss. If you want to lose weight, you have to understand that it is not a marathon. If you step on the scale and you did not see pounds dropping down, do not give up because it will happen if you continue with healthy lifestyle.
