Caesar's Filet Mignon Flavor Softies: A Product Review

Charlotte Kuchinsky
My best friend is my little Shih'Tzu. I have raised her since she was just a few weeks old. When I got her she fit into the palm of my hand. I had to feed her from an eyedropper and then from a doll's baby bottle. We are family. She means the world to me.

However, M'Lady Pepper Ann - - her formal name - - is a picky eater. Let me clarify that further. She isn't picky when it comes to the people food she loves so much. However, when it comes to her own kind of food, she becomes very picky indeed. That even extends to her treats or "yummies" as she knows them.

There are only a few that she likes. I can count the number of them on one hand. The rest she won't even consider. She'll turn up her oh so cute pug nose.

Her current favorite treat comes from Cesar Treats. It is their Filet Mignon Flavor Softies. They are tiny, bite-sized, paw shaped treats with a wonderful gourmet flavor. Maybe that is the key. I pride myself on being a gourmet cook so perhaps I'm responsible for Pepper's gourmet tastes.

Caesar's Filet Mignon Flavor Softies contain more than 4% protein and fat; about 1% fiber and roughly 23% moisture. Ingredients include animal fat caramel color, hickory flavor, natural filet mignon flavoring, rice flour, poultry, salt, sugar and wheat flour. Unfortunately they also include calcium proponate, potassium chloride, potassium sorbate, propylene glycol, sodium tripolyphosphate, titanium dioxide, yellow 5 and yellow 6.

I like Caesar's Filet Mignon Flavor Softies because they are only seven calories each. Yet, they are still decadent in taste, soft in texture and rich in flavor. To me that is the best of a lot of different worlds and a special treat for my best friend.

I love Cesar's approach when it comes to their foods and treats. They realize that pets mean the world to their owners. They offer unconditional love and their owners want to give them nothing but the best in return.

In addition to Caesar's Filet Mignon Flavor Softies, there are also Grilled Chicken Flavor Softies and Prime Rib Flavor Softies. That means there is something to suit even the pickiest dog's discerning tastes.

I love the packaging for Cesar Treats. They come in what looks like a little handbag that weighs about 6.7-ozs. The Filet Mignon Flavored treats come in a purple and silver bag with the cute Cesar dog on the front.

There are roughly 75 treats per bag, which costs around $2.60 per bag.

The bag measures approximately 7.75" by 8" by 2". The bag is small enough to make it easy to store in a kitchen cabinet or pantry.

Unfortunately, Cesar Treats aren't found everywhere. However, they are available wherever a wide variety of dog food and treats are sold. That includes large grocery chains, pet stores and discount department stores.

You know the doggie in the Caesar's commercials, the Westie? That's the kind of dog we had for 13 years, now gone to doggie heaven.
