Café Milano

The Peppermill Resort Spa Casino in Reno, Nev., is full of dining choices, many of them located in the casino area. But not all of them have your favorite comfort meals. Sure, you have your elegant dining choices, your buffets, and your seafood, but where can you find a good burger or a steak or how about some hearty pot roast? Look no further than Café Milano.

Located in the casino area of the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino, Café Milano has all of that and more. Formerly known as the Coffee Shop, Café Milano has been redesigned as a stylish café with an atmosphere of bright lights and vivid colors carried over from the casino right outside the entranceway that is open 24 hours a day.

The menu at Café Milano is very extensive, as it carries a variety of specialty drinks, wines, beer, breakfasts, omelets, griddle cakes, waffles, fruits, cereals, pastries, appetizers, soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches, steaks, Asian meals and seafood. Comfort foods, such as pot roast, southern fried items, turkey dinners and many other "sticks to your ribs" meals are available.

All of Café Milano's menu items are under $30.

My dining choice at Café Milano's was the Classic Burger, which was made up of 8 oz. of USDA Steakburger on a toasted bun with the normal garnishes of lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and onions with a side of French fries. Like all of the other restaurants at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino, the portion of this dinner was very large. The burger was exploding with flavors and definitely fulfilled the craving of having basic, good, familiar food choices, rather than deciphering a high-class, overwhelming array of food choices that had you asking what items were.

Sadly, the French fries did not measure up to the standards of the burger, as the fries were very bland and soft. Onion rings, potato salad or pasta salad may have been a better choice. But for $11, you couldn't beat the burger!

Café Milano is the restaurant to go to at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino if you are looking for great quality simple food without the frills and with all the flavor. I highly recommend it!
