CAITLIN CROSBY is LOVING HER FLAWZ

Residency at Hotel Cafe - October & November 2009

Caitlin Crosby is no ordinary indie artist. Caitlin has appeared on numerous teen comedies, including That's So Raven, American Dreams, Malcolm in the Middle and That 70's Show. She recently signed a booking contract with Paradigm and has representation through one of the elite of LA's management firms, Fitzgerald Hartley. On top of that, she has an incredible friend and cheerleader in Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, who she's known and worked with since her teen years spent in girl bands. Her sweet music video "Still Have My Heart" features many of her Hollywood friends, including Chuck's own Zach Levi.

Her latest project "Flawz" is in my opinion the best indie album of 2009, and has spawned a self-love movement centered around Caitlin's website, www.loveyourflawz.com. The focus of the album is best summed up in Caitlin's song "Imperfect is the New Perfect," a rousing rock tune about accepting yourself just the way you are, without any need for augmentation or correction.

Caitlin has been doing a themed residency at the Hotel Café, and I caught her act on Hawaiian Luau Night, the exact center of her seven-week run. Although the venue was not packed, there was a good crowd there, four weeks into her residency. She kicked off the set with an acoustic version of "Don't Play me Hollow," after which she invited her band to the stage. When she got to the title cut "Flawz," she talked about the website and the positive effect it was having on the self-image of countless people. In fact, local promoters Koffeehouse Music Productions recently had a "Love Your Flawz" night at Harvelle's in Santa Monica. Caitlin truly shone throughout the set, especially on her new tune, "San Francisco."

Despite her Hollywood upbringing, Caitlin is proving herself to be the darling of the dysfunctional majority, and her music has struck a chord in the hearts of many people. Her residency continues at the Hotel Café every Tuesday through November 17, where she will be joined by Brother Sal, a Hotel regular.
