Caldo De Cameron: A Mexican Shrimp Soup

In the U.S. chefs make and invent many different kind of soup every single day, but there is one soup my family has been making for years and the recipe comes from Mexico. The name of the soup is called Caldo de Cameron (Mexican Shrimp Soup) and it's really good to eat anytime during the day. In this article I will explain what Caldo de Cameron is and what is in this real good tasting soup.

Caldo de Cameron from what I heard is full of vitamins, because the shrimp provides nutrition and the other ingredients in this soup provides good sources of nutrition also. Caldo de Cameron can be served for any meal, because it's not to spicy and the warm taste is good on a winter day. But, if you like it spicy you can add some hot sauce to spice up the flavor up a bit. I like my Caldo de Cameron very mild and with jumbo shrimp, because I just love shrimp. Caldo de Cameron is used as remedy for alcoholic hangovers in Mexico. Caldo de Cameron is served at Shrimp Cocktail restaurants all over Mexico and it's very inexpensive to buy.

Caldo de Cameron main ingredient is jumbo shrimp and lots of them in the soup. The shrimp are first boiled until fully done and soon after they are left in their juice and the vegetables are added after. The vegetables added are cilantro, cabbage, and onions. Then the mixture is cooked until the vegetables are soft, then the Caldo de Cameron is ready to eat with salted crackers. And, if it's not to spicy you can add some hot sauce to spice up the flavor. I usually eat Caldo de Camero when I have the Flu or I am not feeling too good.

Caldo de Cameron can be enjoyed day or night for meals, or during any meal. I love to eat mine at lunch and I like mine to have plenty of jumbo shrimp in the soup. Caldo de Cameron can also be enjoyed for classy dinner parties, because the shrimp to me are a very good elegant food when served right with a good presentation. This recipe is not hard to make, but just make sure to add some salt to the soup when making this soup to make the flavors come out.
