The California Baby company is a seller of children's skin care products. They proclaim their products to be natural and healthy for babies and children. They make a line of sunscreens that are well-suited for that age group. If you're looking for a child or baby-safe sunscreen, consider these five.

5) California Baby Everyday/Year-Round SPF 18 Moisturizing Sunscreen Lotion. This sunblock, like all sunblocks from California Baby, is made with micronized titanium dioxide. Fans of hardcore organic products will be aghast that the American Academy of Pediatrics would even consider recommending a product like this. Nonetheless, it contains organic ingredients, green tea, and is hypoallergenic. It is also non-staining and designed with a locking pump to prevent the stuff from leaking out into a diaper bag or purse. Californiababy.com sells this formulation for $19.99 for a 4.5 oz. bottle.

4) California Baby Everyday/Year-Round SPF 30+ Sunscreen Lotion. This is essentially a higher SPF rated version of the previously described product, differing only in a few ingredients. It is also hypoallergenic and non-staining. For the higher SPF rating, you will still pay only $19.99, but you will only get a 2.9 oz. tube at Californiababy.com.

3) California Baby No Fragrance SPF 18 Moisturizing Sunscreen Lotion. Can a product be 'more hypoallergenic'? California Baby is banking on people answering yes by offering a product nearly identical to Everyday/Year-Round sunblock. The difference between the two? The Everyday/Year-Round formulation contains 'essential oils' which give off a mild scent. The No Fragrance version lacks the oils. Consider the No Fragrance version if the wearer has a very sensitive nose and/or allergies. Otherwise, the Everyday/Year-Round should be fine. 2) California Baby No Fragrance SPF 30+ Sunscreen Lotion. Again we have the same product as the SPF 18 version, just with a little more titanium dioxide. 1) California Baby Citronella SPF 30+ Sunscreen Lotion. Remember those delightful candles or coils that you would put out in your back yard to help keep the bugs away? Their main bug-repelling ingredient was citronella. This sunblock uses natural citronella, unlike the synthetic version found in most candles, combined with lemongrass and cedar to offer a pleasing scent. Will this sunblock repel bugs? The California Baby website does not make any such promises, but I doubt the scent will attract them.
